Actually, Kirkman had stated that he always regretted cutting off Rick's hand in the comics. So, the show gave him a Mulligan on that decision.

Yup, I've read that. I figured the main reason was similar...that it wasn't really an essential plot point and thus became an annoyance to work around.

Well...that all applies to people who read the comic books. For the rest of us -- which is the vast majority of viewership -- it was an actual cliffhanger. And even if you'd read the comics, there's no guarantee the show would follow the same pattern of character deaths anyway -- Andrea was killed long before she apparently was supposed to die in the books.

I think a lot of people just didn't like the whole cliffhanger concept period -- they thought we should have known who was killed right then rather than dragging it out all summer.

I think had they shown Glenn getting the bat to the face at the end and then showing someone else about to, it would have gone over better. Demple/Dimple whatever fucked that show up so much.

There’s just way to many ways they could eat if they are roaming without fear from the zombies. I don’t even care about how they are doing it, and since we don’t know, it doesn’t come off as unrealistic.

They could have a farm.
They could have found an abandoned farm. If they do not have to worry about Zombies, they don’t need a protected farm. They probably found an orchard of Georgia peaches. There are bees there for honey, and animals as well.
They could shoot humans in the head and eat their bodies.
They could eat bugs. Bugs are high in protein.
They could eat expired cans.
They could potentially hunt using zombies to drive game towards an ambush.
They could fish. Imagine being able to fish without the threat of zombies.

Like why the hang up? They still exist in a world of scarcity, yes. However, is it really that inconsistent if we don’t know much about their numbers and what methods they might be capable of when they are hidden in plain sight?

Let’s move on since I am right and you are a skilled debater... how about the genesis of the whisperers? We have this crazy lady who hates weakness and she fled with her daughter. Doesn’t exactly seem like the type to make a group. Every single person could have been killed but instead they are now in this group. Pretty curious to see how it all came together. I hope that they cover that.

Didn't watch. I always look at all the "new post threads". Seemed interesting but mostly intrigued by WHY it pissed people off that they used it as a cliff hanger.

I am amazed that you’ve come in here every year since you stopped watching to tell everyone that you know longer watch, as if to say “I have better things to do with my time,” and then continue to post and reply to people about what you don’t like about the show.

If I am not mistaken, haven’t you come in here every single season since you stopped watching to make the point that you are no longer watching? Maybe it wasn’t you... just seems odd.

I am sure plenty of the people in this thread watch shows much more efficiently than Q and I, but no need to save us from our poor taste. We’re good.

Much like Arrested Development, The Wire is best the second time you watch it. Lot to take in and a ton of characters.

I saw a blurb saying that last night's episode was supposed to be great, and to tune in even if you haven't watched it for years. But it struck me as a bit maudlin. And kids that are portrayed as being excessively wise for their age grate after awhile.

Show is starting to feel too much like a soap opera.

I keep thinking the awesomeness is right around the corner, but they really stretch this out.

Rick was abducted.
Negan needs to get out and kill somebody.
The whisperers story had a ton of potential, but I really wanted them to murk that staff- weilding, do-gooder teenage naive fuck. They had this perfect: daughter of Alpha really did lead him on and then they murder him. Would have been great.
At least Beta is still around. Looks like next week gets crazy.
