The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for, although I've heard similar remarks about the overwhelming amount of content. I've been thinking about breaking into the 4X genre for awhile. Thank you and @Out of the Rafters at the Q for the feedback!

On a somewhat related note, I've also wanted to get back into sci-fi gaming, and started a new Mass Effect run through (original trilogy only, not much of a fan of Andromeda). The first one is... rough, although the story easily stands the test of time. There's been a couple of game breaking bugs that I've encountered on the PC version. I'm mainly just trying to power through it to get to the second and third. It's a shame that the first two are the only ones available on Steam, even though the third one was initially released for Windows as well as the previous gen consoles.

ETA: So far, I'm only starting with the base game, and holding off on the DLC.

Would kill for a remaster of that trilogy, modernize the first one a bit maybe. Andromeda was so disappointing. Hope we see that series revived at some point but unfortunately there is a trend right now with legendary developers going down the shitter (mostly due to evil corporate overlords) and Bioware is one of them.

Mass Effect is one of my all-time favorite sci-fi series in any medium.

Andromeda was a colossal disappointment. Anthem isn't even worth talking about.

BioWare seems to have had their souls sucked out by EA over the years. It's difficult to fathom that the company behind classics such as the original Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, KOTOR, and Jade Empire could put out some of the stinkers that they have over the past three years or so. Even DA: Inquisition, while a good game, reportedly took a massive toll on the development team.

I'm cautiously optimistic now that Casey Hudson is back in the fold and they are reportedly working on DA4 in addition to several secret projects, but we'll see if they're able to recapture the original magic of the Shepard saga.

You've gotta figure that a re-mastered/re-made trilogy is on its way for the next gen consoles.

From what I understand this game was garbo day 1 also. I think it got “fixed” around year 2 with the Forsaken expansion. And with Bungie now separating from Activision I think it has steadily improved also.
Huge Destiny fan. Can confirm Year 1 was shit. Id actually like to pick up 2 again and play through some content, but literally no one I know still owns the game. If they do, they dont play it. Also the LFG groups for Destiny are complete shit & extremely annoying.

Yeah, I played the shit out of it for a few weeks, then dropped it. Really enjoyed it and I'd keep playing if I had a crew, but it just requires a pretty big time investment to get the full amount out of it seems like and that combined with being solo....

Will probably return to it at some point, we'll see.

In the meantime, picked up Hollow Knight again and am digging it. My fiance and I are pretty into the Overcooked games too, those are really great relationship testers. lol. Fun ass games though. I'd love to get her into more video games but that's about all she'll play for now (and the occasional Mario Kart on our old ass Wii, or Donkey Kong). Grabbed RE2 on my PS4 since it was on sale for like $15 digitally so I'm gonna get that going alongside my Hollow Knight playthrough. On the PC it's pretty much just Total War: Warhammer 2 which is dangerously close to overtaking Warcraft 3 as my favorite strategy game ever.

Been playing COD:MW on PC, but extremely burnt out on it right now. Basically told my friends last night(on PC and XBOX, we cross platform) that I'm just waiting for battle royale, and if it is not part of season 2, I'm probably done for now.

Want to finish up Link’s Awakening on the Switch, and continue to fire up RDR2 on PC and get some time in doing the story every now and then.

Really want to get Tarkov, but want to see if battle royale comes out for COD first, as I know that will suck all my gaming time up.

Anyone played Plague Tale: Innocence? I picked it up on Steam while it was on sale. I’m about seven chapters into it so far. Awesome game, other than some very minor technical glitches that I’ve encountered so far.

Apex Legends Season 4 is out now. New character, updates to the map and weapons. I'm addicted to this game

jumped back into a match. Made it to top 4. engaged a squad, got third partied, closed the game out

Almost picked it up because it looked good, but I'm trying to work my way through the backlog of other Steam Sale games I've gotten. Trying to finish up all 3 Witchers, and I'll then have only a dozen or so....

Mass Effect 2 is one of, if not my favorite, single player game ever. Close, anyway. Up there with the original NES Kirby and KOTOR.

And then ME3 was on its way to being right there and then the ending just shat all over it.

And I had a blast with Andromeda but everyone memed on it and now who the fuck knows when I'll get another Mass Effect.

Didn't play Andromeda (started it when I had the EA game pass but lost interest after about two hours), but agree on two and three. It's amazing how bad the ending to the third game was, and how it totally altered how most of us view the entire series. It's hard to muster the energy to replay it when you know how terribly it all ends and how ultimately nothing you do really matters.

I also liked Andromeda. I know it was released as a buggy mess, but it was a pretty damn good game in the ME universe.

Andromeda was solid.

The thing is expectations are so high for any ME game that being "solid" isn't enough for the die hard ME fans. I thoroughly enjoyed the game though, even though some of the fetch quests were annoying but I thought the story developed nicely and Ryder was a pretty solid character by the end of the game.
