The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Had some PS Store money and with pretty much everything likely being delayed and already having bought Cyberpunk, I went on a shopping spree. Bought on sale:

Celeste
Control (digital deluxe)
Jedi Fallen Order
Days Gone

Celeste is amazing. Just absolutely addictive platforming. Haven’t started the others yet, want to finish Ori and RE2 first. But should have plenty to play in 2020 regardless of there probably not being much coming out.

Sure but those are games of the past. I suppose maybe Apex Legends. But I can’t think of many modern shooters with a shit ton of speed and mobility. Mainstream anyways.

I mean Overwatch has some really fast characters like Tracer and Hammond. And has characters with crazy mobility in other ways like Winston’s jumping, Pharah’s flying, Lucio’s wallriding, etc. In general Overwatch characters move really quickly.

That’s a good example, though I was thinking more traditional shooter types and not character based games. Which Apex is but most characters traverse the arena the same way unlike OW (if i recall correctly) I never got into Overwatch, despite being a Blizzard fanboy.

My Half-Life 2 run is stalling because I keep getting high and pussing out on playing "We Don't Go to Ravenholm." :chuckle:

Probably my all-time favorite level in any game. The atmosphere ia fantastic, decent puzzles, truly creepy enemies, and really good combat. Plus Father Grigori.

It was brilliant to introduce the gravity gun right before that level and then put you in a playground of sawblades to rip zombies in half with.

Awful to see TLOU2 plot leak like that. What a disaster.

I mean, you can just not read the spoilers. I'm not going to.

That doesn’t stop the diminishing of the team’s hard work on such an anticipated game. With the backdrop of the leaks being Naughty Dog’s supposedly poor treatment of employees, too, the situation is a trainwreck. Not sure how closely you’ve followed it.

That’s to say nothing of the vitriol associated with fan reaction to the leaks. I’m not reading them either, but people clearly hate it. Now the game is going to receive extremely negative buzz for the next month and a half leading up to its release.

Haven't read anything about their treatment of workers, but I have to imagine if people had read the ending to the first game they might have thought it sucked too on paper. I have no idea if that's the case here, but the relationship between Joel and Ellie during the game is what sells the ending, and it wouldn't have worked without that.

I agree, but again, the content of the leaks isn’t really what I wanted to go into. Simply the effect the leaks have had on the hype and build up to its release. Regarding the content, though, haven’t read them, but the reaction definitely has me nervous after Game of Thrones totally botched Season 8. Hate to see that occur again with a beloved IP... but hey, soon we can judge for ourselves.

I'm still just as hyped as ever for the release. I'll believe it sucks when I actually see that firsthand.

Haha, yup. I will give benefit of the doubt. I’m pretty lenient too. They’d have to totally Thrones’d it for me to hate it.

They also get some additional leeway because the gameplay could still be really good to compensate for the story dropping the ball.

Yeah, mentioned that to my cousin, who is also a big fan. Remaining hopeful. I actually really enjoyed the gameplay in the original and didn’t just play for the story.
