The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I love how we've come full circle from remakes and reboots to them just charging us another sixty bucks for the same game. :chuckle:
It depends on what the effort behind the game is.

If it's what we saw in the Wii era with 4:3 content being re-released in widescreen as an "HD Remaster" then fuck that shit.

If it's a complete re-design of the game, like the FF7 remake, then they deserve every penny.

Totally agree with this. Waiting for a Mass Effect Trilogy and Metroid Prime Trilogy Remakes/Remaster.

Capcom killed it with RE2 and RE3, which RE3 already sold around 2.5 million during a pandemic.

Done right I wont fault those who buy them, but not all of them are worth it.

I don't consider full graphical remakes like RE2 or FFVII to be in the same ball park as sixty dollar remasters.

Although I definitely heard they cut out parts of RE3 for the remake and obviously Square intends to milk the FFVII nostalgia for all it's worth by making multiple games out of it.

If y'all need a good baseball/sports game fix, Super Mega Baseball 3 is really fucking good.

Tony Hawk Pro-Skater 1 and 2 Remastered announced.

I'll be getting that. I played the hell out of the first game.
Im pretty sure that both of those games are in my top 5 grinded games of all time. Plus the first one has my favorite video game soundtrack ever.

But yes, I preordered yesterday.

I played the first one and thought it was complete garbage.

Is SMB3 actually good, like for a baseball sim? The first one was just like an arcade-y slugfest.

If you are looking for a game like The Show, it's probably not for you. Ego can definitely make it harder, but it leans more arcade than sim, I would say. But it really plays a solid game. I think it's better than the 1st one by a country mile, and an improvement on 2.

For you, I probably wouldn't spend the 45 on it. Might not hit right for you.

New Apex Legends season 5 dropped yesterday.

New character Loba is cool and they OP'd Mirage, which actually makes him fun to play with finally. They also made major changes to the Kings Canyon, no more Skull Town. She Gone. Lots of new spots, moved the Leviathan Dinosaurs outside of the map, etc.. Made some cool yet minor changes to weapons, Peacekeeper is now a gold drop item and the Mastif is a regular pick up. I like the way they are balancing and cycling there weapon schemes. They made the loot screen more user friendly to pick things up real quick and go, among many other nice changes..

This is my main. They keep spicing it up. Game can be really addicting once you pick up the pace and get used to the weapons and different characters.
If you were ever interested in Fortnight, this is the much better alternative

It’s a great game. I’m on and off. Might hop in with the new season.

If you're on PC the Escape From Tarkov wipe is coming up.

Essentially they wipe out everyone's progress and reset so everyone is on the same playing field. Everyone will be trying to rush quests and be running shitty gear trying to get a leg up. Perfect time to jump in and it's a SUPER addicting game once you get into it. Should be a good time.

Is it leaving early access or something?

Nope.

Just a large update. They wipe about every 6 months or so if there are large updates/maps added to the game. Add new quest lines for progression, etc. Keeps the game fresh because once you're at a certain point of progress with a certain amount of money you're just running the best gear in the game every raid you jump into.

Easily my favorite game at the moment, there's just so much depth there. Highly advise anyone here who is interested in a realistic shooter to check it out, and you might just fuck around and get addicted. The learning curve at the beginning is the harshest of any game I've played but it only makes you want to improve more, and once you get past it it provides one of the more exhilarating gaming experiences out there. Especially when you can always get one tapped in the head and lose a shit load of expensive ass gear, setting you back.

Noticed that the Skullpiercer mod came back for the Wingman and Longbow, but the Anvil for the flatline and r-301 was gone. Flatline feels like it did with the anvil and seems to drop people a lot quicker now. I never play with Mirage, what changes did he get? Honestly, I hate the new loot screen, but I can see how it makes it slightly easier.
