The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah, there will be a 3. And I thoroughly enjoyed 2 so, I will be interested in it.

I'm on board for Part III as well. After playing through it, I don't really get the hate. I mean, I understand the game is a bit of a slog with regards to tone, and I think it probably would have been better had they cut at least five hours from the run time (there were a lot of sections that dragged on for way too long), but overall it was a great, well-made game. I will say I was disappointed that the game teased you with a really interesting open world segment early on when you first get to Seattle, but then the rest of the game is all pretty linear. Why only have one section like that?

I already mentioned my complaints about the game's final chapter.

So tested out this pretty incredible bug/exploit in Total War WH 2. The Wood Elves get a tech that makes them immune to all attrition. Well, that includes attrition due to lack of funds. Soooooo, you can go as far in the hole as you want and keep your armies. You just gotta spend all of your money each turn to get anywhere. @Chris

For those who like Total War games you really should get into Warhammer when number 3 comes out. It's just incredibly, incredibly in-depth. Even if you don't like the fantasy stuff.

That’s funny. I havent tried the wood elves, but they look cool. Also cant stress your second point enough. Might be my favorite strategy game of all time.

Desperately need a new game to play on XB1.

Thinking Witcher or Dark Souls. Which one is better/which should I play?

Vastly different games, but Dark Souls is my all-time favorite console game. Takes a long time to master, but I've never played anything else where the extreme difficulty is so perfectly matched by the fairness of the system. You die -- a whole lot -- but always for reasons that makes sense and help you improve. And there's pretty much endless depth to it.

It's much more play than story based.

FromSoftware games are some of my favorites. I've platinumed Bloodborne and Sekiro.

On another note, TLOU2 was incredible. I loved the shift towards even more grittiness and gore. I had no issues with the ending, either.

Minor spoilers:

This isn't a game that's supposed to have a happy or satisfying ending. This is a bleak, depressing world where everyone does fucked up things to survive.

I'll be running back through it and getting platinum for this game whenever I have the time.

Looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima on Friday.

I don't even think there is anywhere to really go story wise anymore.

I gotta get back to Sekiro eventually.

Been looking for something to scratch the itch ever since I beat it. Hoping that Ghost of Tsushima is going to do that for me this week.

Despite it being a FromSoft game, it plays so much differently than Bloodborne or Dark/Demon Souls. The story is definitely a lot more explicit as opposed to the story telling from those other games (where you're using context clues and item descriptions to figure out the story).

Yup. It’s very cool. I just play it in spurts like most From games. Still have to beat Sekiro, and DS3.

Ghost is getting some pretty good reviews. I think I’ll buy it. In the Outer Banks right now. Coming back Friday conveniently.

Nice! I was actually trying to book something in the Outer Banks for next week, but it was pretty well booked out. Going to Hilton Head instead.

Hilton Head was on our list too. Our honeymoon was Hawaii originally but it just wasnt feasible to fly anywhere with all this crap. Enjoy the Head!

Sorry to hear about that. Right now it’s definitely not feasible to fly to Hawaii due to the mandatory 14 day quarantine that’s imposed on all outsiders that are flying in. I went to Maui for my honeymoon, and we plan to hopefully go back next year. I hope you get the opportunity as well, maybe for a renewal of vows or something?

Anyways, back on topic. Ghost of Tsushima is getting some pretty solid reviews overall. Can’t wait til Friday.

Neon Abyss is good. Very Gungeon like. Solid Rogue-like.

Persona 5 Royal is so good!!! I mean it is a turn based RPG, but i love the story! Royal edition is better than the original version.
