The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didnt like that either, but won’t judge it solely on the beta. It’s on GP so I’ll be at least trying retail.

Bit more to it than that, but yeah. Not everyone is into the gameplay loop. Honestly I didn’t used to be either. Of course it truly is pointless- everything you do in video games is pointless, in a way- in that it’s just a mechanism to get you to tackle the next difficulty tier. Think of it as you haven’t truly “beaten” the game until you’re clearing at top difficulty, and then it’s really the same loop as any other game if you think about it.

I’m not sure there is a more tangible reward than that that they can offer. Getting my necromancer to the top tier difficulty a few seasons back was extremely rewarding to me, especially since I struggled with him at times and getting his build perfected. There’s so many skill and gear and talent synergies that are in play, that no explanation here will really do it justice. I’d just get to endgame and dive in and see if you dig it before writing it off. It very possibly may not be for you, but again, I had literally the same opinion before I tried my first loot-driven game.

I’d boot it up and play with you but after like 5000 hours I think my D3 days are over lol
Yea the way they make it refreshing is adding ladders and seasons.

So when a new season drops you know it's a race to who can hit level cap first, who can clear a level X rift first, and then who has cleared the highest level rift of your class and so forth.

Diablo 2 was about the loot only, because it was so, so, so much harder to get the loot. If you ever actually DID manage to get a full build, you'd have put an insane, insane amount of time into the game just to do that.

I will say Diablo 2 DOES have some uber bosses if you wanna still feel like you're trying to do something more than get gear. THey're extremely hard, require very good gear, and quite a bit of grinding to unlock.
Well, I've reached endgame for Diablo 3 now and...as expected, I don't care for it :chuckle:

Fortunately, Diablo 2 comes out Thursday.

I do like the idea of uber bosses. Assuming the D2 remaster has them as well, I look forward to giving those a try.

They're very, very hard.

I played a lot of Diablo 2, tried one of them once, and got plastered so badly I didn't try again lol.

Gonna pass on D2. Played it twenty years ago. Looks pretty visually, but I'm good.

Much more pumped to see Path of Exile 2 next year.

There's just things I never managed to do it d2. I never saw high level gear drop. I never hit lvl 99.

Playing Super Metroid on my switch as a part of a community play through. I hate wall jumping and shooting mechanics are archaic, but just absolutely love replaying this game.

D2 is just about unplayable right now. Servers are definitely straining under the load.

Always hit or miss with the 1st week of a launch. One would assume that certain big studios would have enough servers after so many missed opportunities, yet we continue to get sub par launches for online games. So frustrating as a gamer.

Damn, I was about to hop on. Guess I'll get some more work done :chuckle:
When I was finally able to get in, I couldn't even finish the first den of evil before the game crashed.

Hopefully it'll be better in a day or two, but we'll see.

Has there ever been a game launch where servers aren't an issue? Like.. ever?
