The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've become somewhat of an expert at Warhammer 2 campaigns.

And w/o a doubt, the worst faction when it comes to building decent late game armies on the harder difficulties has to be greenskins.

Bad ranged units and no healing makes for a rough time. Particularly when you have to fight something like Lizardmen doomstacks full of stegadons.

Only tried Groms campaign, got absolutely fucked by the tomb kings and lizardmen gang bang like before turn 50. I’m bad but damn.

There are so many amazing mods that I could recommend for Warhammer 2 but the one that I feel is the most useful for Mortal Empires campaigns is the Unnatural Selection mod. Basically, it gives you the ability, before you start, to strengthen or weaken any AI faction. Noticing that High Elves and Dwarves curb-stomp the entire map by late-game (dat Order tide)? You can fix that. Want to actually face a meaningful Greenskin resistance -- you can fix that. Want to face a legit chaos invasion? You can make that happen. I've tinkered with this mod's settings a bunch and now that I have it I don't want to go back to vanilla.

In terms of a complete overhaul, SFO Grimhammer II is amazing as well. A lot of new units, heroes, lore, buildings, everything. It's comprehensive in every sense of the word.

I've played SFO Grimhammer a bit. It's basically a new game.

My only complaint about playing on the hardest difficulties are the combat bonuses the AI gets.

It makes trying full blown melee infantry builds rather stupid, as the enemy gets big melee buffs.

And like I was saying, this is particularly hard for greenskins, who have NO good ranged units to stack at all. ANd while their monsters are good, they have no healing, either, which is a big problem when you try something like a rogue idol doomstack, because single units don't get any post-combat healing.

The mod I think I will try is one that's just basically a unit cap mod. It makes it so you can't have like 19 of one single unit in your army AND it can also be set to cost cap the army. So the armies will be forced ot be more balanced between some cheaper units and more expensive units.

I’ve been playing BioMutant. I reserved it within a week from when it was announced, waited basically four years, and then had my heart ripped out by reviews.

Only to completely disagree with the reviews and have a total fucking blast.

Glad to hear that. Reviews should always be taken with a grain of salt.

Any of y’all play Rocket League? Been looking for some new folks to play with. I’m decent, probably Champ 2 this season, I haven’t been playing as much.

Drop your system and profile name if you wanna run some games!

As a PS5 and XSX owner gotta say, Microsoft is bringing it this gen. I like their roadmap more than Sony’s.

I like to mess around with the Yakuza games, even tho the first couple are pretty terrible by today's standards. The shift from brawler to turn based RPG was a fun change with the newest one.

And another 2D Metroid coming out this year!

Looks really good. I’ll be playing. Fusion was my favorite Metroid.

Just moved back to Columbus, been out of state for 5 years, finally got all my gaming stuff set back up. I am really loving what we saw at E3 from Nintendo and Xbox. Fall 2021 and 2022 overall sounds like it’s gonna have plenty to play.

So excited for Metroid Dread. Fusion has been my "Im bored on this plane ride, lets play a game" game for the last 4 years now. Such a fun speed game too. Recently started trying out Super Metroid and been loving that. So happy we finally get what looks like a great extension to one of my favorite franchises!
