The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd imagine that's true for most games in general, and particularly games with over a hundred hours of content. I only finished Witcher 3 because I found the story to be so much more engrossing than your standard open world game.
I would assume so, but if I'm going to invest 30 hours in a storyline, it's obviously gripped me enough that I'd have to finish.

But thanks for ruining my joke with anecdotes and common sense.

Oh yeah, I also beat the two new Spider-Man games. Those were definitely open world, although the fact that getting around the world is actually an enjoyable experience probably helped. Swinging around New York as Spider-Man has pretty much never not been awesome.

That being said, I'll probably never replay it despite it being one of the ten best games I've ever played because I don't have as much time now as I did when it came out and the thought of starting over is just daunting at this point in my life.

It’s funny because as I’ve grown older and my free time has slowed to a trickle, I often wonder how friends and people I talk to have time to do multiple playthroughs on games. I don’t have time to even play all the games I want to, period- how are these fuckers playing through Mass Effect and Witcher 2-3 times each?

I do feel satisfied from my time with The Witcher 3 though and feel like I squeezed every drop of content from it in my 120+ hour playthrough. Sure, I likely missed a few things, but that’s one game that when I beat it I was like , “Yeah, I got my money’s worth.” Not that I’d never go back and play it again- time permitting, I would, in a few years. But if I don’t, it’s all good too.

Still my number on all time.

Started up Demon Souls, anyone play through as a magic user?

The Witcher 3 is I think the only game where I finished everything including all the dlc. I usually finish a game and don't bother with DLC, but the Witcher's DLC was just as good as the main game.

Better, honestly. The first DLC had a better story than the main game imo and the second provided a nice closure to Geralt’s overall story.

The villain in that first DLC was the best villain in the entire series.

On yeah, that first DLC had an amazing story. Very dark. Loved it.

How steep did you guys find the learning curve in Witcher 3? I picked it up a few times, but it never quite clicked because I thought the combat controls were a little overwhelming. I need to give it another try though since it's such a highly regarded game.

The combat never really becomes amazing, but I found it to be serviceable enough. It's miles better than combat in the first two games.

Bah click enemy ad nauseum is a tried and true strategy that worked perfectly fine in the first game.

2 had the most atrocious controls on PC or console.

First time picking it up I was rolling around like an idiot instead of parrying and dodging which made for easier time. But you don't play it for the combat, worst case scenario is lower the difficulty to fit into the style of play you want.
