Nintendo Direct yesterday looked fun. Mostly looking forward to Metroid Dread and Triangle Strategy looked good. October 8th can't get here soon enough for Metroid.

Enjoying D2:R so far...was cruising along fairly well for awhile but I am getting my ass kicked in the Jails in Act 1. Any idea why? I'm level 12, my equipment seems pretty good...but I am dying so ridiculously easy. I've used my Stat Points each time I level up, however I've been saving Skills for the Hammerdin build...is that why I'm getting smoked? My character also isn't very resistant to elements at the moment, is that an issue?

I've googled a lot of shit to this point just to get where I am, but I can't find anything on this...I'm basically stuck in a dying loop right now, someone help me please any tips/suggestions for progressing through Act 1 would be greatly appreciated.

This game is so much harder than Diablo 3 it's not even funny...I slept-walked my way through that game.

Playdead's INSIDE

Horror puzzle platformer game with great atmosphere and interesting story. Last portion of the game is some real freaky shit.

A few of the puzzles were poorly designed and not intuitive at all. As if the developers secretly wanted me to fuck off and do something else. Tutorials and walkthroughs helped.

D2 is just about unplayable right now. Servers are definitely straining under the load.

Yeah, Bioware just sucks now. Blizzard sucks but also has a huge sexual harassment scandal going on.

Yeah. I do wish the game was a bit more intuitive, you can tell it's 20 years old in that sense.

I managed to get through the Jails (basically sprinted through them) but having the same issues in Catacombs now. I just can't survive a horde of enemies in a small space, and I'm really not sure how to best approach these situations moving forward. It's starting to get a tad frustrating

I've once again hit a wall, this time with the end boss of Act II... the difficulty in this game is night and day from D3. As a Soulsborne fan, I can dig it, but I forgot how much you need to grind and build up your chars at times.

Still stuck in the Catacombs in Act I.

After doing some rather extensive research, I think my biggest issue is that I'm really not using mana at all currently....was saving my skill points for Hammerdin build, but it seems using a couple points on other skills in early game really helps...so think I'm going to try that next.

Yes I'd suggest you spec your points into something that works for you right now. You get a free re-roll every difficultly level, so there's no reason not to use them on normal mode.

So spend your points now, and then when you're high enough level to throw your points into the build you want, go back to the chick in Act 1 and re-roll.

And like I said, you get those re-rolls every new difficulty, so 3 in total.

And even after that there's a way you can get more, it just takes some farming for some items.



For me, I'm wanting to do a build I never did, a poison nova necromancer. But you can't poison nova till level 30. SO I'm just making a normal summoner build until like level 40 or so when I can re-roll all of my points into all of the things I'll need.

ALSO, for the D2 people, don't forget about picking up socketed gear and making early game rune word items. THere are some rune words that REALLY make a difference even for low level characters.

So for instance my necro currently has equipped the level 17 rune word armor Stealth. It only takes two runes and both arel ow level. The item is way, way better than anything you'll see drop at those levels and makes a huge difference.



IF you want to farm runes, kill the COuntess on ACt 1 a few times. She drops them.



Also, remember to always have a mercenary as soon as you can and to equip them with gear.

Can you continue re-fighting Countess if you haven't gotten to Act 2 yet? Just need to kill her, save and quit, and reload?

Yea just make sure oyu have the closest waypoint to where she is. Kill her, reload the game, and she'll be alive again.
