This guy is to me is the perfect backup big man for our roster. He is rather athletic, decent defender and rebounder, and more importantly, a free agent. Milwaukee with the No.1 pick are likely to pick gun Aussie center Andrew Bogut, leaving the retention of Gadzuric lower on the priority list. Add to that Milwaukee are focussing heavily on Redd, Dan may be looking at his options elsewhere. We do need to add another big body, and one that can play center. He is a perfect compliment to Ilgauskas, as they have contrasting styles. This allows us if we resign Z, to play him more desirable minutes, whilst always giving us the option of mixing it up. A five man rotation of Ilgauskas, Gooden, Varejao, Traylor (option picked up) and Gadzuric in the front court is a very good one. It also allows us to look at moving Gooden if we are serious about getting into the draft.

He is definatly worth the look. We never really had a good backup center behind Z since Chris Mihm. It would really be nice to have another 7 footer on the bench to choose from other than Diop.

Do you think that the Bulls will match any offer to Chandler? I think he'd be a good fit here. The idea I've thought of is doing a sign and trade for Redd, heard on the radio they'd consider a sign and trade. Now if we trade Gooden we have to fill a hole at PF but we'd essentially create cap space because Gooden's contract would be off the books. For example if we have 24 mil in cap space and Redd gets 10 mil that'd leave us 14 mil but by trading Gooden we'd regain his 4 mil which would leave us 18 mil and we'd have an allstar at SG and SF. The next decision would be on what to do with Z, personally I'd resign him if we can get him for around 10 mil a year. Now if there's 8 mil left or so would offer all of that to Chandler and see if the Bulls would match? I think Chandler would be a very good fit but 8 mil to start the contract might be a little high, but that's what it takes to bring in a restricted free agent.

The thing with Chandler he's hustles, plays good defense, and can score a little plus he could play some center to rest Z and give us a fast lineup that still has very good size. This would mean that'd we'd have to look to bring in free agents that make the minimum to fill out our roster or make a trade.

Chandler is slick, and he would probably fit really nicely next to Z.

But I think Chicago is going to keep both their big men.
