TNA Road To Slammiversary Predictions/TNA Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As a wrestling fan, I can't stand TNA's product. Personal feeling is that I'd much rather watch PWG, ROH, CHIKARA, and WWE before tuning into TNA. Once the six sided ring left, the company just fell apart from an entertaining match standpoint.

While I agree that the six sided ring was nice, quality matches can still be had for TNA. I'm not sure if you've watched recently, but Bully Ray's work is probably some of the best stuff he's ever done.

Even though I know id be a step down for the guy, they should try to bring in Cesaro. That guy can wrestle but he gets no love in WWE.

Well looks like Abyss is back, along with Suicide.

Cesaro won't come. I'm kind of hoping Orton fails another test and they grab him. Although, I bet he'd just sit the year out.

Tag match for slammiversary is set.

They made the contract official for the main event on Thursday and added a few more matches. James Storm can pick a partner. It probably won't be Chris Harris to reunite America's most wanted.

I'm looking forward to Styles Vs. Angle out of all these matches. The X Division could be interesting, depending on who is wearing the suicide mask this time.

And suicide is:
TJ Perkins

I see a Brooke Hogan heel turn coming.

Re: WWE/TNA/Etc Spoiler Thread

Had nothing else to do tonight, so I watched most of Impact, it was alright...noticed there was like no wrestling for about the last 30-45 minutes which is one of the reasons why I stopped watching them. Voice since I noticed you watch TNA still, is the X-Division still in bad shape like it was a few years ago when I stopped watching? I remember them just not having any feuds for the division and it really seemed like they were starting to bury it. Now I see they have a bunch of big names competing in the Ultimate X match at BFG, but from what I gathered it seems like they threw that match together 2 weeks before the PPV. And Bubba Ray also knocked the X-Division in his promo at the end. This is also one of the reasons I stopped watching. Damn, I just rambled a lot right there, yeah so if you could answer that for me, that would be great.

I didn't watch impact last night, so I can't really comment on that aspect. They are trying to turn Dixie heel and it's hard for me to buy into. It's like trying to make Stone Cold corporate, it never worked.

Onto the X-Division it isn't what it used to be, but they have been trying to revamp it. TNA is known for making matches 2 weeks before PPV's and not really building the storylines for a month on in like WWE does. In other words the Daniel Bryan Vs Orton storyline would have ended long ago in TNA. I'm not concerned with that X Division match as I hope it delivers. Manik and Sabin are good for the division, Aeries was great when he was in that spot and I can't deny Joe's wrestling ability. The X division is no longer a big feature of TNA, but with Hogan and Prichard leaving. Rumor has it JJ (minority owner) is coming back to help with creative/booking. He was big on the X division and it could make a return.

The tag division has unfortunately suffered, but the knockouts division has some of the best womens matches I've ever seen in 20+ years of watching pro wrestling. If you want to see what I'm talking about watch Gail Kim Vs. Taryn Tarell last knockout standing match or even their ladder match. And their PPV's have been better then a lot of WWE's IMHO.

Bully Ray might be the best heel in wrestling right now, especially on the stick. Like him or hate him because he's 40+ plus years old he won't be around forever, but we are seeing some of his best work since ECW. I'm curious where they're going with the AJ storyline, since he's going to win at the BFG series if I had to bet on it.

I think you should give Bound for Glory a shot, since it's their Wrestlemania. I expect Angle Roode to steal the show, but wouldn't be a bit surprised if Bully Vs. AJ was the best match of the night.

Forgot it was on, when I remembered I looked it up on a stream and watched like the last few minutes of Magnus vs Sting. Surprised TNA let a younger guy go over a big name cleanly (or have they been finally doing that?). Also, still see AJ Styles is still a boss even if he's not in his prime anymore. Still see that TNA loves its multiple interference in a match. Glad to see AJ won though. Him and Samoa Joe were probably my favorites when I used to watch.

Yes AJ Styles is still probably the best guy in the company next to Roode. You missed a very good match with Angle and Roode. Samoa Joe has really fallen off. Impact was great and Mr. Anderson (AKA Mr. Kennedy) is back.

Magnus has been called the future of TNA on numerous occasions, so yes they do that from time to time. I wouldn't be shocked if he's a champ by next year. Seems like every time they push him, he gets pushed back. This time for AJ Styles, but he's by far their best wrestler and I'd rate him up there with Punk & Bryan.

It has been reported that TNA Wrestling is up for sale, and that the Carter family wants to throw the towel in and sell the company to the highest bidder. Some of the rumored names interested in purchasing TNA are Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, Viacom and possibly the WWE.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer revealed the news Sunday on his radio show, and noted that the Carter family have been wanting to get out of the wrestling business for several months now. Their decision comes after they have done all they could with the company, and have not gotten the results they wanted.

It didn't help that they kept making Jeff Jarrett champion over and over and then hiring a terrible creative team (like Russo) to make bad wrestling story lines for about two years straight.

Like it or not Jeff Jarrett knows the business. The stuff they were doing originally is a hell of a lot better then what they had going on a month ago. JJ is back on the creative team rumor has it.

This weeks Impact has a great match card and I for one will be tuning in. I stopped watching for a solid month, but turned it on last week after I was told that the programming has gotten better.

Angle Vs. Roode best out of three falls
Hardy Vs. Magnus Dixie Land Match

News:

AJ Styles’ TNA deal expires today. He had been negotiating with TNA, but as of this time, the two sides have not agreed on a new deal. If a new deal is not reached today, Styles will become a free agent for the first time since 2002. Styles has several independent dates already scheduled, which include the following…

December 28 Anarchy Wrestling Cornelia, GA
January 19 Pro Wresting Xpress at Ziggy’s in Winston, Salem, NC
January 26 Smash Wrestling in Toronto, ON
February 1 Dreamwave Wrestling Chicago, IL
February 7 Deep Southern Championship Wrestling Blue Ridge, GA

IndianTelevision.com recently interviewed TNA executive VP of licensing and international TV distribution, Andy Barton. You can check out some highlights of the interview and some comments Barton made about TNA overtaking WWE in the UK below:

Barton on TNA pushing to have a bigger global market and claiming they have surpassed WWE in European markets: “Let me give you a global perspective; we at TNA play the long ball and this strategy relates to the entire world. If we look at the UK market – we have pushed ahead of WWE there and our show is watched more in comparison to WWE week in, week out. Ditto for Germany. In the US of course, it’s going to be tough to carve a space when there is already such an old and established brand and the same is with India. But looking at the history of the wrestling business, there have been a lot of brands that have come and perished like Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and obviously World Championship Wrestling (WCW), that was tremendously successful but it just boggles your mind that a company that was making that kind of money and was hugely popular went bust.”

Barton on TNA and WWE swapping wrestlers on their roster: “Well, it’s something that depends completely on the superstar, in Kurt’s case – he has been with us for an equal amount of time that he was with WWE. Similarly, Gail Kim too was earlier with WWE, then made the shift to TNA, went back to WWE for a short stint, and has ever since been one of our leading superstars. Such movements don’t generally work for everyone, but if you take a look at our wrestlers compared to WWE, we are more on the road than them. So it is really encouraging for young talent that wants to be on the road for 300 days a year. And at the end of the day, it’s all about promoting young talent for the industry and keeping the roster fresh to keep the audience hooked to the show.”

Jeff Jarrett resigned from TNA wrestling and is supposedly working with Toby Keith to form his own company.

TNA has picked up their talent by signing Ethan Carter III (Derick Bateman in NXT and a local Cleveland talent) and The American Wolves (Edwards and Richards). Both of which who have good talent from what I've seen that the WWE dropped the ball with.

The wolves won the tag titles at a house show a few days ago. TNA has stated that a title can be won anytime anywhere. Just like the old days with NWA.

Lockdown Lineup (Everything in the steel cage):

World Title
Magnus (C) Vs. Samoa Joe

For Control of TNA
Team Dixie (Bobbie Roode, Austin Aries, & Bromans) Vs. Team MVP (MVP, American Wolves & Jeff Hardy)

Knockouts Championship
Madison Rayne (C) Vs. Gail Kim

Rookie Vs. Legend
Ethan Carter III Vs. Kurt Angle

Mr Anderson Vs. Sam Shaw

The Great Muta, Senada, & Tigre Uno Vs. Bad Influence & Chris Sabin
