Top 8 Sitcom Characters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
These are NOT my top 8. I just wanted to add some names I don't remember seeing mentioned.

  1. Alex P. Keaton - Family Ties
  2. Eddie Haskel - Leave it to Beaver
  3. Arnold Jackson - Diff'rent Strokes
  4. Daniel Fielding - Night Court
  5. Blair Warner - The Facts of Life
  6. Mel Sharples - Alice
  7. Les Nessman - WKRP in Cincinnati
  8. Hal Wilkerson - Malcolm in the Middle

You should check it out, man! Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Andy Dick, Joe Rogan... so many good comedians

All hilarious, and a very good show. It was fitting that one of Hartman's original comic partners -Jon Lovitz - took over for him on the show. His greatest accomplishment in my mind was co-writing Pee Wee's Big Adventure with Paul Reubens. That's a goddamn masterpiece.

Speaking of Dave Foley, I showed my 4 year old a skit of Kids in the Hall because it was relevant to whatever we were taking about, and he got hooked. He watches old skits all the time and quotes them at pre-school like everyone knows the jokes. They are hilarious and somehow completely PG for kids.

This one is his favorite:

Kids in the Hall is amazing.

The tea addict skit is hilarious.

Though some of the material is decidedly too Canadian for American children.

Hopefully your kids don't start demanding Poutine and HBC point blankets.

Listen. Brain Candy was a masterpiece of cinematic perfection.

Also.

After finishing Shameless, I can't believe that I forgot about Frank Gallagher. He has to be up there.

Big props for Benson, forgot all about him.

Since a lot have been thrown out, here’s a few I’m surprised to not see mentioned:

-Dick Solomon: John Litgow’s character from 3rd Rock from the Sun (brilliant show) Could probably include Harry Solomon as well
-Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles (take your pick) from Trailer Park Boys
-Ari from Entourage
-Jazzy Jeff on Fresh Prince
-Martin from Martin
-Urkel//Stefon on Family Matters
-Tim the Toolman Taylor (Wilson might be better)

I’m sure I’ll think of a few others

Has anyone mentioned Bill McNeil (Phil Hartman) from News Radio?! Such a good character and underrated show.

I did like 3 posts before yours. One of my favorite scenes was from the episode where Bill got a cane and it was the central focus of that episode, this was the ending after Dave had stolen and hid it.

When they do the sound of music business man scene I lose it. I love showing this to my daughter.

My other fave is when Bruce McCullah gets in the guitar battle with Satan.
