I'm just here to toss a vote in for Kip/Buffy Wilson played impeccably by Tom Hanks.
Shoutout to Jake Peralta (only one mention!?) and Raymond Holt (no mentions?!). Rest of my list would just be regurgitated.
- Raymond Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine
That was such a good show.Shout-out to Veronica Palmer from the unfortunately short lived Better Off Ted.
I was waiting for someone slightly older than me to mention the single best character of all time.
If you don't include Mork from Ork, fuck you.

Dude, being a kid in the mid-1980s, sitcoms were a whole different landscape than today. You had a lot of laugh tracks and forced laughs from "a live studio audience" and nobody could take any risks with the humor. There were four or five networks, that's it.
Then, out of this world where real humor was practically impossible, they let Robin Williams improv on cocaine under the pretense that he is an alien.
I have no idea how well the episodes hold up today, but at the time there was nothing even close for humor.
