Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Kelly Oubre Jr wants to silence his critics. He will get plenty of chance with a team like the Cavs.

If we can't land Oubre, trading for TJ Warren or Cam Johnson (don't know how!) might be good, too.

Would you all do this trade:

To CLE: Quickley, Knox, & 2022 unprotected 1st

To NYK: Sexton & Dotson

the Knicks overachieved this last year, so that pick could very well end up in the lottery.

*I* would do this, but you're gonna get folks blasting this idea.

I wouldn't blast it. But I wouldn't make that trade. I'm not high on Quickley at all. And worst case Knicks are late lotto and no guarantee you hit on that pick. Too risky of a deal if we are dealing Sexton.

Nah. Sexton has way more value than this. We shouldn't trade him.

Two picks in a draft that looks to be VERY heavy in wings sounds good to me.

If he has way more value than this, shouldn't a deal have materialized?
Just maybe he isn’t actively being shopped despite what all the experts and insiders on this board think is fact.

This is worse value than losing him in free agency. NY cannot trade their 22 first, Knox is not a developing player. He has done nothing to improve, and he is the epitome of busted. He will be lucky to get minutes if he was brought in to a tanking team let alone one like the Cavs who are trying to make a play in game this upcoming season. Quickly makes no sense after trading for a back up pg.
You could use him in a role similar to Sexton off ball, but i mean what in the F is the point in that unless you think he has Sexton upside as a scorer? He is not as athletic or as quick or fast at all lacks the same handles etc. The only way this makes sense is if Sexton asks for a trade there, Knox is replaced with Quinton Grimes and Quickly is replaced with Simms and NY gets another first from Houston unprotected to ship to CLE along with their own 22 2nd the Detroit 23 & 24 second round picks and the rights to Joku.
Then maybe they can have the right to pay Sexton instead of the Cavs who should be so lucky.

Now that the Knicks have drafted McBride, re-signed D-Rose, and signed Kemba, they really have no need for Sexton anymore.

Why can't the Knicks trade their '22 1st? They have two 1sts in 2023 and already made the '21 pick...

lol it was your trade idea from yesterday that I responded to. It was terrible trade idea. Yes they don't need him now anyway now that they got somebody like Kemba smh They didn't need him after their weak offers like your proposal equated to, forced them into drafting 2 point guards and a combo guard and still having to resign Rose and go get a buyout vet.
NY last season was a fluke and they will be on the treadmill for awhile but they cannot trade a pick they already owe to another team.
For all the faults of this org in the past, at least this time they are trusting their process of development. Selling low on Sexton was never a good option and if they really were doing that it would have happened long before free agency.
