Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cleveland receives: Kevin Knox, and Obi Toppin
New York receives: Evan Mobley, and 2022 unprotected first

Why?
Cleveland gets rid of their franchise player.
New York gets rid of their busts.

I would love to do Cedi for Knox ….tbt

Mobley looks like a star.

Now is not the time to aim for garbage in garbage out moves.

Now is the time to be hyper aggressive if a true young star player is available.

Just trying to stack a young star next to him, even if it is costly in the short term.

I'm much more willing to attach draft assets to players like Garland or Sexton, if it nets us a young star to grow with Mobley.

Like call the Pelicans.....and just see what happens....

CLE: Ingram, Satoransky
NOP: Sexton, Love, Unprotected 1st, 2nd

New Lineup:

PG - Garland
SG - Okoro
SF - Ingram
PF - Mobley
C - Allen

That lineups SLAPS :chuckle:

Maybe NOP says no.......but to me, that is the avenue we should be going. Not similar pieces for similar pieces. Aim for a clear upgrade and spend some draft capital if necessary.

I'm with you in theory, and even *possibly* on this trade, but I think the 2022 Draft has the chance of netting the Cavaliers a VERY good wing player that plays the same position as Ingram. I'm, admittedly, sometimes overly on the "build through the draft" train, but I think Evan nets us a longer runway to build while the current team is exciting enough to keep our attention, even if it's not in contention.

Also, I may be a bit leery of how impactful Ingram is to winning. Now, if you insert Jaylen Brown instead of BI, sign me up.

On other threads the idea of Garland/Markkanen for Jaylen Brown or Brandon Ingram was brought up. The general consensus seemed to be that Boston would decline. What do you guys think of that and are there any other wings out there that such a DG(or Sexton)/LM package could realistically return? It would have to be for a dude that can shoot if we're giving up two of our better shooters...

Cleveland receives: DeJounte Murray, Lonnie Walker & Keldon Johnson
San Antonio receives: Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, Cedi Osman & top 10 prot. first (22-24, otherwise 2nds)

Why?
Cleveland gets a guard who fits well next to Sexton, a decent role player guard in Walker & a good prospect in Johnson.
San Antonio gets a guard with upside, a defensive specialist, a decent role player & a first round pick.

We gotta find you a new hobby, or a significant other, or *something* to make these "ideas" less frequent...or better.

Part of me just says keep the team together and fill the wing need thru next year's draft. I think the current team can be competitive and fun this season while still being in position to draft a nice wing prospect.

OTOH if Detroit goes in the tank early this season, which might already be happening, why not pursue Jerami Grant? Would Detroit be interested in Okoro+Cedi(salary filler) + '22 FRP? They would most likely want Garland or Sexton but I prefer not to trade either of them unless Cavs are getting a star in return. Grant might not be a star but he's still only 27 and would obviously be a plug and play big wing the Cavs need.

I'm just not ready to give up the '22 first round pick. With Mobley looking as good as he does, that pick will be the Cavs' best chance to land an impact player for nothing to slot into the lineup and roster.

From there, you look at trade assets and cap space to make further additions knowing that the draft, in all likelihood, isn't going to be adding any more blue chips.

Cleveland receives: Jalen Green and KPJ.
Houston Receives Evan Mobley, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland.

Why?

Cleveland gets rid of its SexLand dilemma and avoids having to max out Mobley in four years, adds height to the backcourt and reduces the number of seven footers on the team.

Houston gets defense, scoring and playmaking while getting rid of two knuckleheads.

I think the Cavs might need to add their 22 FRP (unprotected) to convince Houston to do this

Trade #1
Cleveland gets: Jonathan Kuminga
Golden State gets: Collin Sexton

Why?
Cleveland gets a much needed wing.
Golden State gets a guard that can lessen the load on Curry.

Trade #2
Cleveland gets: DeJounte Murray & Lonnie Walker
San Antonio gets: Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro & Cedi Osman

Why?
Cleveland gets their full time point guard & shooting guard.
San Antonio gets a guard with potential, a young defensive specialist & a good role player on a team friendly deal.

PG: DeJounte Murray / Ricky Rubio / Kevin Pangos
SG: Lonnie Walker / Denzel Valentine
SF: Jonathan Kuminga / Dylan Windler / Lamar STevens
PF: Evan Mobley / Lauri Markkanen / Kevin Love / Dean Wade
C: Jarrett Allen / Tacko Fall / Ed Davis
Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff

Not sure why but I can't post attachments here.

Knicks:
Kevin Knox
Quentin Grimes

Cavs:
Cedi Osman
Dylan Windler

Knicks get a solid bench guy in Cedi and swap late round selections in Windler and Grimes to make the deal work. Get value for Knox and we get our stop gap wing.

I liked Grimes in summer league lol but he has never been that impactful in college or the NBA
Knox is so ridiculously overrated by this board due to need for a player of his body type smh
He is terrible as a ball handler and passer just terrible. He is nothing more than a undersized stretch 5 that can't rebound and should be out of the league soon.
Windler will be too if he doesn't stay healthy .
Osman is better than all of them most of the time and that aint saying much

Grimes is a rookie who shot 40% from three in his final year of college with 8 attempts per game. He has pretty good size for a two at 6'5" and 210 lbs.

Kinda trading junk for junk since Cedi is not in the future plans and Knox is not in New York's. I would rather give Knox our backup wing spot behind Lauri since he hasn't shot under 35% at threes since entering the league. He has prototypical size and Cedi isn't worth shit to the Cavs rn.

yeah Grimes can shoot in college and is getting no run in NY so there is a draw there to look at him but they took him in the first and he was a 2nd round range player by most.
I am guessing he would be useful but not worth trading for when the need is at the 3 more than anywhere
Cedi>Knox the same Knox who has played 4 minutes in 1 game this season the same Knox who averaged low usage back up to a back up at the 4 last season. He is no SF
