Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
yeah Grimes can shoot in college and is getting no run in NY so there is a draw there to look at him but they took him in the first and he was a 2nd round range player by most.
I am guessing he would be useful but not worth trading for when the need is at the 3 more than anywhere
Cedi>Knox the same Knox who has played 4 minutes in 1 game this season the same Knox who averaged low usage back up to a back up at the 4 last season. He is no SF
Can the guy not play small forward at all? Lol

I only included Grimes and Windler to make the money work.

Honestly, I wouldn't let finding the best option get in the way of finding a suitable fit. Someone like Danuel House would be a nice fit to be our backup wing or start and give 20 mins a night.

The Rockets should have their sights set on Rubio too. Think they would give back an asset so they don't have to suffer through KPJ playing point. If Koby's plan is to trade him, imo I would love to keep him.

This team has the tools to go out of get a replacement level wing if they want to. Cedi playing well in the mean time is really covering a significant hole in the roster.

I really don't think the Cavs are going after any middle of the road SF's like House and I don't think they have any interest in changing the 7' front court anytime soon either. But of course now that LM is out with Covid exposure that may change.
It will be interesting to see what happens at the deadline but there is noone worth trading for that can be traded for right now imo

I m guessing that if DW can stay healthy he easily replaces Okoro in the rotation backing up Sexton and LM and makes trading Okoro a real possibility for this front office, although I doubt he has enough trade value to bother being hurt and not being much of an offensive threat, and so he probably sticks for another season eats up Windler's potential usage and Windler gets let go smh
I would consider keeping Okoro if they can move Cedi at the deadline assuming Okoro is working on his shooting but I doubt he is working on anything with a hammy

In the unlikely event that Windler can stay healthy, I'd guess that Okoro keeps his spot in the rotation as the backup SG that occasionally plays SF while Windler primarily backs up Lauri at SF while occasionally playing SG. I don't think Windler staying healthy suddenly makes Okoro expendable at all.

expendable? Okoro is not that good offensively and already lost his starting gig before the season started. He is on the block if Cedi isn't imo especially if Windler can play

Other than Mobley, Allen and Garland EVERYBODY should be on the block!

Sexton is a key piece of the puzzle and shouldn't be either but yeah anyone on this roster is unsafe imo if a deal comes along that puts an elite player next to Mobley over the next couple seasons.
The way they are headed they won't possibly even be in the lottery next summer so theoretically they will have to trade for someone eventually unless Evan presence draws good FA's

Can we package Sexton + JB for an up and coming assistant coach?

Can we instead not overreact to Sexton struggling through a shoulder sprain or a coach having shitty spacers to put out there?
Some of these takes make my vomit seem edible

I wanted Sexton traded before the shoulder issue. My Kingdom for a 6’4-6’5 SG!!! Or a legit 6’7-6’8 SF

The thing with trading Okoro is that I don't think he has much trade value. Yeah, still on a good contract, works hard and OK defender, but so far his ceiling is looking like being a decent bench player.

and yet they traded LNJ not Sexton and got 7' pf and put him at the 3 instead benching the guy they drafted in Okoro not putting him in for Sexton at the 2 like so many of you had claimed would happen and Sexton hasn't shot well at all this season which would put even more pressure on somebody to move him but nope. This front office and coaching staff do not share your blind sentiments.

Patience my Son….patience! Don’t think for one minute the FO didn’t float his name out there! The only reason he’s still here is because so early in the season no GM in his right mind is going to meet the Cavs asking price.

Trade our first round pick (top 3 protected) to Atlanta for Cam Reddish.

Well, it was reported that the coaching staff was all set to start Okoro at the 2, but was overruled by the FO. I'm going to infer that's because the FO wants him to play up his trade value as much as possible, but I could be wrong.

The lack of a contract extension and that report, when paired, show that Sexton was not in the team's long term plans before the season. That could change, but I doubt it has thus far.
