Trade ideas: Offseason edition

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cleveland receives: Jerami Grant

Detroit receives: Kevin Love, '22 unprotected first via Cavs

Oklahoma receives: Josh Jackson

Why?

Cleveland gets a much needed wing to round out their roster.

Detroit gets an unprotected first that has a chance to be good.

Oklahoma gives Josh Jackson a look. They need to reach the salary floor anyway.

PG: Darius Garland / Ricky Rubio / Kevin Pangos
SG: Collin Sexton / Isaac Okoro / Denzel Valentine
SF: Jerami Grant / Cedi Osman / Dylan Windler / Lamar Stevens
PF: Evan Mobley / Lauri Makkanen / Dean Wade
C: Jarrett Allen / Mfondy Kabengele
Coach: J.B. Bickerstaff

Stop giving away unprotected 1sts, please.

It is not only that the player returning to the Cavs is not worth a protected pick and not a good enough sniper to make any sense. cut the Cavs out of any late summer trades at this point imo.
The Cavs are not ready to "round out the roster" anyway and Love is the last guy you trade since it costs picks to move him smh

While I agree with you, I didn't even look at the trades because they included unprotected 1sts. I won't even look further at a trade that includes unprotected 1sts *from* the Cavaliers.

How about Knox?

Cleveland receives: Kevin Knox

New York receives: Cedi Osman

Why?

Simple swap. Cleveland gives Knox a change of scenery, which may help him reach his ceiling.

New York gets a wing on a team friendly deal who is a sniper from downtown.

Do these words have a different meaning I don't know about?

right Knox has gotten worse every season and his minutes going from 28.8 as a rook to 18.9 in year 2 and following that up with an unimpressive 11 minutes per game tells the story pretty clear that he will soon be joining the likes of skal labissiere and others who were overvalued based on upside due to things you cant teach and now are fighting for gleague minutes or worse

I’d do it, although I think NY would have to include another salary to make it work.

Should the Cavs trade for KAT if he becomes available by the deadline or in the offseason?

They could field a really good offer. The idea of Mobley and KAT together is exciting.

Dont think he beomes available, dont know we have what it would take to get him if we dont give up Mobley anyways.

Why does Minny trade him?

Minnesota would want Mobley & more for KAT.

Or we can wait to sign KAT in 2024, When Mobley is matured into his best self.. Along with at least one more lottery pick..

Obviously the Cavs wouldn’t trade Mobley. But if KAT has no intentions of staying in Minny, they may be interested in Jarrett Allen and Okoro. Two young guys under contract for a while. Cavs only do that if you know KAT is going to re-sign here.

I’ll admit I haven’t seen much of KAT, but from what I have seen, he’s overrated, and almost a tweener center in today’s NBA. Not worth it.

I want no parts of KAT, unless he comes borderline free.

He puts up pretty good numbers, but he doesn't do anything when it counts or for winning. I hate the phrase, but he's the quintessential "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" player. I'd genuinely rather keep JA than KAT. #CallMeCrazy
