As a teacher, the acronym RIF makes me shudder

That's how they refer to layoffs (reduction in force)

For numerous reasons, RTF is much better as you said earlier.

Would it be against etiquette to ask what ever happened to AZ?

As noted by @Sebastian, he will be back.

I just want to address one thing in here that I also said in the very first post in this thread. You guys can all help keep this place running smoothly if you shoot a friend/ally a PM if you think he/she may be getting out of line. That applies to all of us. Those kind of friendly messages always find a better reception if they come from a friend rather than a moderator. And they can help keep things from escalating into something where a mod or admin has to get involved.

Just a suggestion but is there any reason why several threads that have not gotten any responses in 3-4 YEARS still need to be pinned to the top? It's a little annoying to have to keep scrolling down to find the theads that are actually active.

Thanks.

Good point. I actually unpinned one of those awhile back, but left the others. Time to do the rest....

I'm leaving the salary thread pinned, though.

Much appreciated. I love responsive government. I'll vote for you in the next moderator election.

This isn't your department but do you know why all those thingys at the top are grayed out? It would be nice to be able to put key phrases in bold or italics.

Election? Lol.

Side note on the salary front, FanGraphs purchased RosterResource, and its a hell of a replacement to some of these pinned threads that are now being removed:

Wish FanGraphs had the Salary info expected FA years the way Baseball Reference does. But alas...

I usually use Sporttrac when it comes to salary since they usually stay pretty updated when it comes to that.
