Tribe @ Royals

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
C.C takes on Zach Greinke today..It's a little ironic he is the "ACE" of their staff and is 3-13...well let's hope our "ACE" and his 7-9 record can prevail and he doesn't tip his pitches. Theirs no reason he can't survive the brutal lineup headlined by Mike Sweeney lol...let's hope this game is put away before the 9th though so we can say Wicky...btw Peter Gammons included Wicky in his list of A.L Cy Young candidates.

I couldn't believe it for a second. But then I sat back and looked at a lot of the games we've won in the past few weeks.

Detroit: 8/5. 9 runs in one inning. That's all we scored.
New York: 8/3. 6 runs in one inning to take the lead, 1 more run in the 7th that meant nothing.

And now: 11 runs in one inning

I have concerns about our consistency. We always leave guys on base. We seem to get lucky a lot and pick up streaks that put us ahead.

We need consistency to be successful. Victor Martinez is the prototype of that right now. Belliard needs to step up as he has been recently. Blake is good, but he only usually does it once or twice a game, every 4 or 5 games.

If Grady and Coco don't get on base, we usually are in trouble. Hafner and Martinez get on base, but nobody cleans up for them past Vick.

i didnt catch it last night, im watching tribe take 2 now.. its the start of the top of the ninth.

the yanks already lost today so a win should put us second in the wild card seating.

for the sake of the tribe, i really hope that c.c. pitches well. his last start wasnt bad but was not good.

Tribe up 5-1 C.C. was solid even hitting 99 in the 6th inning. Grady Sizemore hit a mammoth grand slam in the 2nd. And Blake doubled in a run I belive Betancourt is current in for the top of the 8th.

solid game with no worries.

grenkie was lucky he didnt give up 10 with all of the b.p. pitches he was throwing. he was missing over the plate so much and we were not able to capatilze with risp.

c.c. looked solid, cant complain about 1 earned run.

its getting exciting.. i cant wait for this race.. oakland will be out of the wildcard because angels have fell off, so its between, yanks/indians/angels for wildcard but i still think the yanks will win their division... its just a matter of time

What a wacky 9th inning in the first game of this series. I some how managed to watch the entire game. I thought about turning it off midway through, but decided against it. I'm glad I left the game on. That game was certainly something to experience, and it does rank up there with the Seattle comeback in '01. The only difference, besides the amount of runs that were made up, is that that Seattle team was the best team in the league at the time (KC is the worst now), and they weren't dropping routine balls.

I still think the Angels will win their division, and the A's will cool down a bit and be in the running for the wildcard.

I was thinking that the Yankees would probably eventually win their division too, but I'm having second thoughts now. Their starting rotation is a mess, and the trade deadline has passed....

We def. have a legit chance to win the wildcard. Our pitching is still stronge, and the offense has really picked up since the all-star break.

Another 4-2 victory, if anyone saw the Angels game it was insane today. Runner on 3rd tie game bottom of the ninth catcher throws the ball back to K-Rod and he missed the lob from the catcher and kendall scored from 3rd! Anyway Tribe wins again 4-2 with a grandslam from Liefer. Weird 2 grand slams in back to back nights sizemore liefer...3 on the year hafner hit one at fenway...but the bosox have 11 grand slams this year :0 they should with manny and ortiz in the 3 4 spots though.

The Tribe won tonight, 4-2, and completed the sweep of the Royals. Millwood had another fine outing, and big bob got his 32nd save of the season. Jeff Liefer blasted his first homerun as an Indian, and it just happened to be a grandslam that won us the game.

Next up, we head back home to take on the Devil Rays. Westbrook (10-12, 4.46) will be taking the mound against Hendrickson (6-7, 6.77).

Wildcard Update:

The A's beat the Angles, and the Yankees edged the Rangers. This leaves the Indians 2.5 behind the Angles, and 1 game ahead of the Yankees in the wild card race.
