Tribe Trade Rumor

My friend who runs an Indians website just informed me that there are ongoing talks between Texas and Cleveland and that a radio station is reporting a possible deal. The deal would be something similar to what I said a week or two ago. Cleveland Trades: Ronnie Belliard, Arthur Rhodes, Brian Tallet, and Kevin Millwood. Texas Trades: Alfonso Soriano, Kevin Mench.

We would get two big bats for a hardly used releiver a pitcher who is making 7 million this season and who is probably not coming back next year, a free agent to be in Belliard and an often injured prospect coming off a season where it ended midway..I'd love for this to happen.

I dont see this happening. Shapiro is big on the plan and letting things build, why trade for Soriano when he would just leave via free agency?

yes we make a move for soriano while losing prospects at the same time.We dont go as far as we wanted in the playoffs if we make it then soriano leaves and then Rhodes who is one/if not our best bullpen pitcher and a prospect in the process.I dont like that deal because grady,coco,and unless we move blake will be our OF.I dont see mench fitting in and/or soriano.what are we gonna get a verbal agreement from soriano that he will sign next year?This guy will want more numbers then dolan believed ever existed in a new contract.

Looks like no trades for us, no trades around the board except for Atlanta bringing in Kyle Farnsworth, a slow trade deadline this year.

Hopefully it sets the trade market in the future as well, as within the next few years the Indians could have some excess talent that teams would have to overpay for.

Jody Gerut was traded to the Pirates for Matt Lawton as well.

Lawton is getting up there like 35 and Dubois is only like 26. We wanted youth for youth in the Gerut deal.
