Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Weird he didn't go. They must have not had any time to unload him. Once they got Drummond, he is not very useful. Maybe they really will buy him out.

My guess is Koby promise to help TT get to a contender in the offseason and get paid. Houston will have Ben Gordon tradable in the off-season and there will be players that teams fall out of love with.

Also if Drummond opts out, the Cavs could have a offer ready for TT. There is alot of variables with Drummond and his fit with the team. It's a cheap roll of the dice for the Cavs with Drummond but there is some serious uncertainty. If Drummond opts out and Love gets traded, TT might get his best offer from the Cavs. Hopefully Rich Paul and TT has learned from JR Smith situation and they learn just to be a good soldier for the rest of the season so teams don't get a sour taste by their actions.

he’s got to be a buy out option at this point. They didn’t want to take on a shit contract for him for a protected 2nd round pick (my guess), so they picked Drummond to kick that tire down the road with only an extra year he can pick up. Can’t hate the more especially when they gave up practically nothing.

That's why he's one of my favorite players on the team.

Nothing surprising about that.
I get the issues with some of his on court limitations
I get the frustration associated with all things LeBron and Rich Paul
And I get the distraction of the Kardashian shit.

But I see TT as always having been a consumate pro, a good teammate, a hard worker, and a team player. So it's not surprising to hear that he is not personally pushing for a buyout or moping about this trade and that it will cut into his minutes.

Still holdin out some hope we can sign him to a fair deal. He could be devastating off the bench vs other teams second unit
If not we should net something decent in a sign and trade this summer what with the weak free agent class
Koby was smart not to trade him just to trade him

I’m really curious to see what happens. He should never be on court with Drummond but if he’s going to play more than 12-15 mins a game that will likely happen

TT had a good nite..very aggressive , the 3's were great.

If I'm not mistaken, the Cavs will have enough cap space to resign Thompson is a reasonable contract, what with Dellavedova and Zizic coming off the books. Thompson might have to take a pay cut (3 years at $45 million?). But he plays well off the bench. and he offers a different look from Drummond. Also, if Drummond bolts after this season or next season, he would be a excellent insurance policy.
