Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If he leaves and becomes a FA you are not left with nothing. You're left with open cap space.

And if you trade him for draft picks you still get the cap space AND the draft picks, right? So is it worth giving up the last 40 games of his Cavaliers career for draft picks while also assuring that we don't win enough games to lose our own #1 pick next year?

The Cavs are being outscored by 21 points per 100 possessions when he's off the floor. Trading him means we probably lose 90% of the rest of our games unless Zizic is a lot better than I think he is.

I'd love to extend him but why would he commit to the Cavaliers when in a few months he could have 30 teams potentially bidding for his services? He has a young daughter living in L.A. and there are two really good teams playing in that town. Not to mention that there's a little bit more to do than in Cleveland, especially if you have a few bucks in your pocket. I can easily see TT landing in L.A. or Boston.

Thompson's numbers so far are way higher than anything he's put up in his career, especially his scoring, but his assists, rebounds, and blocks are also at career highs. I expect there's going to be a lot of parity at the top of both conferences now that the Warriors dynasty is over. The Cavs are going to be getting some serious phone calls.
He won't have 30 teams bidding on his services. There will be about 12 teams that could have the room for him. Of course the Cavs can also sign and trade him in the offseason.

Certainly you listen to offers, but you don't trade him on the cheap. You're going to have to take salary back in any trade as well. What are the draft picks we're getting? 2nd rounders?

My point is not that you don't trade him under no circumstances, but that you make sure if you trade him you get value because open cap space is not nothing. Firstly a S&T remains on the table with contenders, but so does trading into open space. Do not trade him just to trade him. If trading him sets the team up for the future better, then do it.

I'm not trading just to ensure a tank either. I want something good in return.

Been an absolute beast, only criticism is that he should kick out the ball more for the open 3 on offensive rebounds instead of trying putting it back over 3 defenders. Other then that bravo

2 for 2 on threes tonight? What is this madness? Taking two threes in one game, let alone making them is crazy.

I'll be the first to admit, I've not watched much of the Cavs. But what I have watched, I love what I'm seeing from Thompson.

I actually want to keep him. He's playing good ball. And who knows, maybe the Cavs sneak in the playoffs even. The East is bad, we might be a 7th or 8th seed.

This aged well

He played well. He's playing well.

He had a bad stretch because Embiid got into his head and he wanted to prove him wrong. It started before this play. Airballed a floater that ended up in a travel. Got stuffed under the rim. And then this.

It's fine. He's probably been the best overall player on the team so far and was good again tonight.

The only problem I had tonight with TT and Love was they didn't get the guards involved in the first quarter. They were both exploiting the sixers but I think they need to show the importants of keeping the scoring balanced. I think if they got Sexton and Garland going earlier that it wouldn't have been so hard to close out the game.

Rich Paul, is that you? Shaqtin' a Fool with the game on the line is the exact opposite of fine. That play needs to be locked away in a vault next to Ricky Davis highlights...

Davis was fun when he did it though. TT just looked moronic. Davis shooting at his own bucket to get the trip dub still a top 10 bball moment for me.

FUCK YEAH BABY.

Still a dumbass, plays hard and is playing well, but his iq is still trash. He had two guys open on either side no excuse for a play like that from a 9 year vet. Also getting annoying how he refuses to kick out the damn ball when he gets offensive rebounds.

That's an automatic benching for at least five or six minutes if I'm head coach. Nice hustle, but flat out braindead after that.

Shocks me how many stupid mistakes NBA players make. You see at least 2-3 things in every game that makes you go "what the fuck". These guys are pros getting paid millions.

It's like he just cant control himself.. he can't snap out of dribbling and taking a shot

Beilein gave Nance the green light. Maybe its a competition to see who can be more moronic. Tristan or Nance.
