The only way trump wins in 2020 is
1) the democrats run Warren.
2) There is some smoking gun evidence that Comey, Clapper and McCabe conspired to create the Russian Narrative under a false flag operation.
3) The immigration problem resolves with the help of Mexico
4) The trade war with china ends in a lopsided victory for the US.

Thems pretty long odds.

I think the biggest loss for trump is Women generally. His pornstar shenanigans, his snarky combativeness, and his braggart persona turns them off in droves.

Why is Warren the one candidate you think can't beat Donald? I think there are plenty that could blow it against him and I think she has a shot to beat him (nobody's a slam dunk IMO).

Electing Elizabeth Warren with a Democratic Congress would put this country on a path back to respectability.

Just gets it, total "it" factor when it comes to knowing how to get our country out of this downward spiral.

Trump joking about election rigging with Putin is really disturbing. Again, even if Trump did not do anything to rig the election, it is in incredibly poor taste. Not surprising, just upsetting.

I think Warren will be the easiest to cast as destructive to the economy. But I know some of the more radical Dems in my circle are listening to her, and at least until the debate preferred her to Harris.. Yang still getting play with tech libs . Joe Biden is a slam dunk to beat Trump..

Good article that discusses this perception.

I agree about Warren. She comes off as too much of a professor. And not in that Obama way.

Biden would not only win, but he'd probably detach Texas from the GOP.

If one stepped into the shoes of the normal Joe, one would see why.

The last seven Presidential Elections have been won by the guy that was perceived as the more normal and mellow of the two. The guy one would have the beer with. Can't discount that as much as some on the Left would like (and they do huff about that right now, not recognizing that Bill and Barak had those very qualities).

Who doesn't love the President book ending his trip in Japan with the Russia election "joke" and then whatever the hell this is.
Seriously is that punctuation at the end a sign of his nervous anticipation of a response from Kim, guy is weird.
Here's hoping Un has that patch on his hand that James Franco was supposed to use in The Interview.

I have a question regarding the Trump Doctrine of Tariffs First, Negotiate Second. Perhaps this has been discussed already in this thread. Anyway, recently Trump made claims that China is paying the US billions of dollars in tariffs. I thought the importer paid the tariffs. Unless the importing companies are also Chinese owned, how is it that China is paying these tariffs? And the cost is passed on to the consumer, no? He could make the claim that it is hurting the Chinese economy and that is a means to force them to the negotiating table. OK, fine. Also, if the cost of importing goods becomes costlier than producing the products within the US, then it may encourage companies to manufacture within the US. OK, fine. But, those two scenarios cannot be taken as China paying tariffs. Am I off on this?

I don't know if in reality he actually understands that, but still vomits out the claim as a means to dupe people into believing he somehow is strong-arming China into giving the US money. Or, he simply rejects any reality that doesn't fit his worldview and substitutes one of his own.

You nailed it. Trump is in no way intellectually curious and I think what is going on here is that he knows he's putting pressure on China but he's really fuzzy on the details of how because he doesn't care to understand. Therefore, he spits out this China is paying for it line because it sounds good as a talking point and it makes him sound 'strong' in his opinion. Only he really has no idea what it means and he blocks out or flat out ignores his advisers when they tell him what is really going on because it doesn't sound as good politically as "China is paying billions".

So tell me then what exactly has he accomplished with North Korea then if all my post is Orange man=bad. He's been touting his relationship with North Korea basically every time that he is in the region and while I appreciate the fact that they were able to recover some solider's remains from the area that's stopped after the last summit that they had and I have no faith that it'll be restarted.
