My Friends,

There had been some talk about sending flowers or donations to the family of the late great Fred McLeod as an expression of every RCF member's esteem and love for him.

@Ben reached out and the family, in lieu of flowers, would like any memorials and/or donations forwarded to the charitable organizations below in Fred's name. The links will take you directly to the donation page; specifically to send a memorial tribute.

Ben has also stated that any donations made will be credited to your name color scheme. Please message him with the receipt if your donation takes you to the next color level.

Memorials and donations may be forwarded to:

NF Forward (the non-profit organization established by Dan, Jennifer and Nick Gilbert to fight NF) at 1074 Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48226: https://www.nfforwarddetroit.org/donate/send-a-tribute/

The American Heart Association, 300 S. Riverside Plaza, Ste. 1200, Chicago, IL 60606-6637: https://www2.heart.org/site/SPageNa...cy.html&s_src=20UHWB1EMG&sub_src=web_main_nav

Damn didn't know he passed RIP

Fred will be dearly missed. I think it will hit home when he isn't announcing games this year or doing interviews for media day. The man genuinely loved Cleveland sports, and I think that endeared a lot of people to him. Wishing people give to charitable donations is noble and selfless of him instead of just taking donations for the family. It's nice to know he also loved animals. My pups mean the world to me. We try and take them everywhere we can and we also foster dogs from our local great Pyrenees rescue when they run out of Kennel space. Some of the conditions these dogs are in is heart breaking, and treating these animals isn't cheap. I'll be donating to the Human society in Fred's honor. I hope other people can join me with picking a cause they feel passionate about. We will miss you Fred. The 2016 game 7 call is permanently planted into my brain.

Thank you, Ty!

Fred McLeod's sudden passing was a terrible loss for all Cleveland sports fans. Following his passing RCF honored his family's wishes that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to several charities.

@The Human Q-Tip and @TyGuy were among many members who expressed a wish to make a collective donation via RCF fundraiser for a local cause to underscore the impact Fred's life had on the Greater Cleveland Area. In particular, for benefit of the Humane Society of Summit County, one of the charities designated by his family, to honor Fred's lifelong love for animals.

RCF is now running with Q's and Ty's idea. We are looking to raise $1,000 which will help the Humane Society a great deal.

Ben has designed new a badge/trophy, the philanthropic paw print,* for those that donate $20 or more.

*Check out my side profile to see the badge in action.

Those who donated to the Summit County HS prior to this drive will also receive a paw.

Just send the receipt to Ben.

Well, Everyone!

We hit our original goal of $1000 so fast, thanks to everyone's outpouring of generosity, and @TyGuy's and @The Human Q-Tip's great efforts, that we have increased our goal so that everyone that wants to donate can considering how much time is left on the drive.

So if you haven't donated yet, please feel free to help us meet our new goal of $1500 and helping even more animals at the Summit County Humane Society!

100% of it goes to the Humane Society of Summit County in Fred's name.

Dear Friends,

Thanks to all of your generous donations, the Summit County Animal Shelter fundraiser has concluded with much more donated than we could have hoped!

The money has been put to immediate good use, delivering a car-load of badly needed supplies including nearly 300 lbs of high quality dog food, 50 lbs. of cat food, 80 lbs. of cat litter and an enormous quantity of paper towels, latex gloves and other cleaning supplies.

This trip is only the first, with another two car-loads of supplies incoming to include bedding, more food, litter and much needed supplies of all kinds.

Thank you all, especially @The Human Q-Tip and @TyGuy for being the driving force behind the campaign, for helping honor Fred's memory and his love of animals. There is little doubt that we've all done Fred proud and helped a lot of animals in need.

Thank you!

I've opened this back up. Monday I'll be delivering a much needed carload of blankets but I'd also like to keep this up for the rest of the season. To do that we need between $350 to $500. If you can donate, please help out.

I'll match whatever amount is raised (up to the $350 goal) by Thanksgiving. So if we max it out, that'll be $700 total.

Right now we're at $55. That's a good start, but we can do more. C'mon guys, be like Tim Misny and make me pay.

Mes Ami,

@CleveRocks is a genius and has put together something very special in anticipation of the pending RBF launch: RBF coasters that have a RBF logo, light up eyes and, via QR code, takes one directly to the latest RBF or RCF post.

I have shared photos below.

We have agreed to allow a very special, and limited edition of five coasters to be released in support of the this fundraising drive in Fred's name.

The first five folks to donate $50 or more will receive a coaster.*

A full run of RBF coasters will be available for purchase in the near future!

Thanks to the amazing @CleveRocks for both coming up with the idea of the coasters and designing and manufacturing them!
