chicagocavfan's Keys

* Will LeBron play? I put him in as the Starter - will update when the game draws closer...

* Drew Gooden's match-up against a versatile, athletic player in Pau Gasol.

* The guards - both teams have several they are evaluating. Each passing preseason game enhances the importance of playing at a high level. Who will perform?

* Hakim Warrick - coming off a big performance against Washington (19 pts, 8-12 shooting) - will he continue to impress?

Cavs win. 104 - 95

My first attempt at this - I'll dedicate more time to the keys when the season rolls around. I haven't even seen these guys play yet (I have Season Pass, so I'll see regular season games).

A couple pics weren't there for Memphis players....

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Good stuff Chicago. Once the season rolls round, we'll know player rotations and stuff, as this pre season is just guess work.

The Cavaliers should look to initiate through Ilgauskas again early. When he is rolling, it opens it up allowing players like Hughes to get into their groove. Hopefully one of our point guards outside Wilks actually finds his range. White vs Hamilton. Ekezie will be cut very soon along with Rivera in my opinion.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Even though it's only the preseason, the Grizzlies have just blown people out. If Cleveland comes out cold, Memphis will go for blood and have a double-digit lead.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

gotta beat the Griz at home. as long a Lebron plays, we'll come out on top.

Z 'n Z our centers will be.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Griz have been playing good defense to win. This will be an interesting game.

Proving that defense starts at point guard. Jason Williams was attrocious defensively, and although replaced by Stoudamire, his effort levels on defense at least make you work. This again is why I want Snow over Jones.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

LeBron James has come out and stated that he will play. Whether the Coach Brown and the medical staff agree is another thing, but it does seem we'll get our 2nd taste of LeBron tomorrow.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Is Hughes going to play? I would like to see some more Hughes, Lebron, Z connections on the court. If these three do their thing, I think everything else just falls into place.

Ekezie and Rivera should be cut. Zendon is nice. I like his ability to get to the line. If you can get a backup in foul trouble and force the starter to play extended minutes, it is definitely a good thing. Wilks has put good numbers as well, but he won't be doing that kind of thing during the season, I can gaurantee you that. I wish we could pick up Azubuike and Wilks and Hamilton...but I trust Coach Brown and Danny Ferry...whatever they do is undoubtalby the right thing.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

I figure it might be keleena and luke all night.

Hopefully, we can shoot better from 3. These last few games we've been cooold. We hit those threees we win. My key to the game.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

most all the stars throughout the league have been sitting. having a new group of players that will have a large ammount of playing time, not playing with lebron is going to hurt us. i still see a transition period reaching into the season 20 or so games.

I agree Rivera and Ekezie should be cut to allow Wilks, Hamilton and White more time to showcase there games. Of course Wilks numbers will drop during the season as he will the 3rd point guard which will be used sparingly. He will though be used more often then an undrafted swingman with a raw game, who will be 6th swingman in the rotation. To me Keleena should just be kept in training camp till Ira, Sasha, Larry and LeBron are healthy. After that :runs:

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Notable: Zendon Hamilton is averaging 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds for the Cavs (2-2) in his last two preseason games. . . . Former Cavs coach Mike Fratello is the coach of the Grizzlies (3-0). . . . Zydrunas Ilgauskas is the only Cavaliers player to have scored in double figures in all four preseason games. . . . Ilgauskas is averaging 12.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Starting Fives :

Ilgauskas / Wright
Gooden / Gasol
James / Miller
Hughes / E. Jones
Snow / Jackson

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Ugh, Ilgauskas starts the game with 2 fouls. I guess this opens up more time for White and Hamilton.
