W Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

I guess it being close makes this game partly interesting.

Scores tied!

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Damon with the freakish 3 point play!

Honestly who fouls on a 3 point shot? :weirdo:

84 - 82 Cavaliers with 42 seconds to play!

Memphis ball. Gasol the obvious target here.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Please dont go to overtime. The fans have seen enough.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

good to have some practice in a down to the wire game at least

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Cavs make the defensive play, and James ices it at the line.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

88-84 to the good guys.

Defense was pleasing, causing many turnovers.

James and Gooden were solid offensively.

Hughes is struggling with his shot but is accumulating points.

Ilgauskas was efficient out there in a game plagued by fouls.

Ordinary game by Marshall. Missed shots and turned the ball over. Made some nice stops though.

Jones and Snow again showed little.

Jackson was eerily quiet, whilst Sasha showed nice flashes.

No game time for the roster hopefuls at all.

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

I've changed the title of the thread to add the score and the thumbs up (as you can see on the first post), but it does not show up on the thread screen - I even added the word PreSeason, but still does not show up??? Does an admin have the only rights to change the thread title?

Re: Cleveland vs. Memphis

Execpt for James Gooden, Sasha, and Z we are 8 for 34 shooting!

Re: Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

Poor Shooting, Out Rebounded on the defensive glass 21 to 40, lots of turnovers, but we draw a lot of fouls, block some shots and play decent defense to win...

This game exposes our weakness at center. If they play physical inside, get Z in trouble early, we don't have an answer. Henderson only played 9 relativley unproductive minutes and we wound up playing a Drew/Marshall combination inside to eke out the win. I think this also shows Brown's opinion of the roster hopefuls. They are not good enough for real game time...

Luke and Sasha still battling for game time.

Luke still shooting poorly, but contributing with the assist and steal. Sasha with the 5 points and the rebound. I think the edge goes to Sahsa this time..

point guard stats were poor but they were the only guys who did not turn the ball over..

Re: Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

I dunno, if I have the choice of Donyell Marshall vs. any of our roster hopefuls, I go Donyell unless there are serious matchup issues, and tonight wasn't one of those nights.

Awesome game offensively by Drew, but look at what Gasol did on the other side. Didn't see the game, so I dont know if this is Drew's fault on D, but the guy did have 4 blocks.

Good to let Lebron and Larry play some together.

Neither point guard did anything great, but both played relatively efficiently i guess.

Re: Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

This PG situation is getting worrisome. Neither Snow or Jones has been that good so far. It's sad when Jones' shooting has been as bad or worse than Snow's. At this point you really can't say things at that position are any better than last year other than better team chemistry without the cancer McInnis.

Jones better pick it up big time when the games start being played for real. He's been a major disappointment so far and has shot poorly in every game. A player can't lose his touch overnight so there is still a reason to feel he'll step it up.

The Cavs really haven't been that impressive the last few games. They need to pick it up when the regular season starts.

Surprising the players trying to make the roster didn't get minutes tonight. It's kind of hard to make a choice when a player doesn't get on the court.

Re: Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

what you can say this year is that Brown's philosophy is the exact opposite of Silas' - Silas would put in the offense and worry about defense later on. Brown is putting in the defense and doesn't care about the offense yet. He knows we have guys who can shoot when the time comes to add in offense. CleveRocks said - Execpt for James Gooden, Sasha, and Z we are 8 for 34 shooting. Sounds like last year, right? wrong! Last year we would lose games like that. Tonight we won.

In the postgame show, Brown said he wasn't worried at all by the missed shots. He said guys are a bit tentative because there is no offensive flow yet - they don't know if they should shoot, pass or drive - that causes missed shots. We probably want to work on that a little before the season starts, but I like keeping the focus on defense until they get it down pat. We already see things like 4 blocks from Drew, LeBron and Drew drawing charges, etc.

Re: Cavalier's 88 Grizzlies 84

I think the coach should start Jones this next game.. At least to get a look at what it might bring in the future.

Jones is coming into the games with Luke and that second unit.. Quite frankly, that won't get it done..

The man cannot create his own shot, and it makes no sense for him to have to look for his offense when he is here to shoot..

He needs someone out there to create a shot for him.. Who is doing that in the second unit exactly ?

Donyell :shakehead
Sasha :shakehead
Luke :shakehead
Hamilton/White :shakehead

I still say it makes ZERO sense to sign shooters and bring them off the bench, when the guys that needs the shooters on the floor to take the pressure off them are

Z
LeBron
Larry
