Karma's Game Notes

* Milwaukee will be without starting point guard TJ Ford and forward Joe Smith. For the Cavalier's, Anderson Varejao remains out, whilst swingmen Aleksandar Pavlovic nurses an ankle injury.

* The Bucks won the 1st game of the series at Milwaukee 111-106 despite LeBron James poasting a mammoth 53 points and Ilgauskas contributing 20. Milwaukee were lead by Ford, Bogut and Redd.

* The Cavalier's have the 2nd best record in the East with a 18-10 record, 6 games out of first, whilst the Bucks before their Monday clash with Chicago sit a further 1 1/2 games back at 16-11.

* With Ford injured, Milwaukee play with just one point guard, Maurice Williams.

* The Cavaliers are winners 7 of their past 8 games, however still struggle on the road. Despite having an 18-10 record, the Cavs are yet to defeat an above 0.500 team on their turf.

Karma's Keys

* The battle of the boards. Both team poccess weapons on the offensive glass, so whoever controls this facet is likely to come up trumps.

* Milwaukee will rely on their perimeter players to fire up against a team that struggles defending the perimeter shot. Detroit failed in this area against the Cavalier's and ultimately paid the price.

* Cleveland conversly will look early on to gain control with their post offense featuring Ilgauskas primarily on the block and James mixing it up inside and out.

Player Watch

Maurice Williams : With TJ Ford out for 2 to 3 weeks, 6th man candidate Williams will take on a larger role. Mo's current form is very impressive and will need to be contained from the perimeter.

Larry Hughes : Milwaukee will be resigned to allowing James and Ilgauskas their fair share of points. However when the Cavalier's are rolling they usually have their 3rd core man Larry Hughes in motion.

Prediction

Cleveland have had there worries on the road and I expect them to continue in Milwaukee. However I see a tight game that Milwaukee wins with 1 too many outside looks being burried by Williams, Redd and Simmons.

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

Ford is no big deal... He wouldn't shoot 5-5 in this game from 3 like the last one.. Other then that, he was not a factor at all.. He really is not that good to begin with... Nothing more then a fast PG who can pass, but chooses to shoot too much...

Attack their poor defense, and out rebound them and you have an easy win...That means DREW GOODEN needs to step up... Will he ? NO... Hasn't stepped up in a road game yet, so I doubt he will... I don't know if he's mentally capable to do so ?

Beating the Bucks should not be considered a huge accomplishment, from the stand point of they're not that good...It's pretty much nothing more then beating the Sixers in philly... The Cavs are expected to win games like these and they should... Now beating the Nets on the road, a team that for whatever reason has our number, that would be a big boost for this team, not the Bucks...

So far in the last two weeks we've beaten a Completely healthy Heat, Pacers, and Pistons team.... It's time for the Cavs to step up and show they can now beat the middle to lower tier teams like the Nets, Bucks, Sixers,ect....

But until they prove they can win a few games on the road, they are the underdogs going into all of them...

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

If everyone else can take the dishes from LeBron and manufacture them into some buckets we will win this game.

If it is a repeat performance where LeBron has to score 75% of our points then we will lose, however 10-15 from Z, 10-15 from Larry and a few buckets from Drew and maybe an occasional jumper from Snow and that should take care of the starters if LeBron is LeBron getting around 30.

Some support from Marshall and Jones will be key, will they be hot and push us out in front or cold and kill any momentum.

We need to put all of our focus on Redd, Bobby Simmons is only scoring 8.3 ppg last I checked and no one else is really a threat, if Z can do a half ass job on Bogut we'll get the win, if he totally drops the ball it's another story.

Prediction Cavaliers 106-94

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

Im at the point now that I look foward to road games, we need to win this game. Are perimeter defense has been a lot better since the last time we played the bucks so that should slow them down.

Lebron James needs to get the ball on the block and destroy simmons as well as Z.

Remember that Damon Jones was a huge non-factor due to his inability to contain ford. His presence will be shown because wilks doesnt do the same thing to a defense that jones does.

And we just beat the Pistons, thier is no reason for the bucks to beat us. :chuckles:

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

Important game, Cavs need to start putting some space between the other teams in the Central. Stick close to Mo Williams, no open 3 pointers, he's capable of going crazy from 3.

Drew Gooden needs to be aggresive on the boards, and Z for that matter; Andrew Bogut can't have another big game.

Keep an eye on how well the wealth is distributed. If Lebron seems to do most of the work it won't bode well for us. Run the floor, let LBJ and Hughes create, let Damon Jones shoot.

Oh and teach Donyell how to finish.

LePip, it's a good thing you've got Mr. Pisser on Michael Redd being there best player and all, but can I suggest he be pissing on Andrew Bogut too. I just can't stand that guy, even though he's a fellow Aussie, I can't stand him!

How about this for this paticular game, TWO MR. PISSERS ?

Why don't you dig Bogut ?

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

Its a common trait many of us Aussies possess. The good ole tall poppy syndrome. Bogut said some things in a cocky "American" style which upset many an Australian. Not I though.

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

i don't understand how the milwauke is just one game behind us when they have two starters out with an injury?

i don't understand why we have to play milwauke twice on the road before we get to play them at the q? seems like the schedule makers favor the other team too often.

lepip must have drunk sour milk left over from last year when he says that ford is nothing but a fast point guard. that team does better with ford than without him. when ford got his back injured two years ago and milwauke had to play with damon jones instead they almost misssed the playoffs.

last night milwauke barely beat the bulls, and the bulls are so bad that they have lost eight games in a row or something like that. milwauke looked terrible. they looked a lot worse without ford than they did when we lost to them during Lebron's 53 point bonanza. if we can't beat them it will be a negative omen for the next month or so.

Re: Cavaliers @ Bucks

Ford is junk....

Over half of Bucks nation prefers MO anyways... Don't believe me, check out their boards...

He is a fast PG with limited offensive abilities.. He is nothing special in my eyes.. I've watched roughly 11 Bucks games this year, and I see nothing to change my stance on him...

He changes the game with his speed.. But so does Boykins, and it's not like he's great..

Ford turns it over too much... He is 3rd in that category behind Arenas and Nash, and he doesn't do half the things they do...

His defense is on par with D-JONES...

I say we go for MO Williams when he becomes unrestricted after this year I believe...

They can keep FORD.. :thumbdown

Like Karma mentioned. Bogut said some things about Australian basketball and Australia in general, basically saying if you wanna be good at anything, leave Australia and go to America. Well, as far as I'm concerned, Bogut can get stuffed, and play for Croatia in international play, because what he said is completely unAustralian.
