Re: Cleveland VS Boston Pre-season

Who needs LeBron ?

Luke and Larry is all we need... :chuckles:

Good solid start to season 05-06. We show some consistency, and won without LeBron. These injuries have allowed Coach Brown to test other options and thus far they have all shown they can play. Henderson and Jackson have given us a nice lift from the bench, with Marshall who has come as advertised.

I think the 2nd quarter determined much of the game when Boston's second unit couldn't score. Pierce was a handful and Banks was quick, getting some steals and being a pest. Reed imposed his size on Jones on a few plays. Luke Jackon was moving well off the ball, spacing the floor and knocking down the shot.

box score just showed up, but no data!

Luke playing well is HUGE for us. He's the potential difference between playoff team and contender. If LeBron/Huges are supposed to be Jordan/Pippen, Luke's job is to be Kukoc. We need that 3rd wing player who can step in and we don't miss a beat. He can fill in if one of the other two are out and he gives us a deadly 3 man rotation on the wing.

The best thing Luke Jackson did was blocking those 2 shots (Dickau and Perkins). It showed he was active and doing more than just shooting (which I also love to see and he did it well tonight).

guy on wtam is ranting about not playing the preseason games on TV. what the fuck is wrong with fsn and wuab anyway? It pisses me off too! best damn sports show period? poker? instead of lebron james and the cleveland cavaliers? c'mon!

The thing I love about luke is his quickness... The dude is not slow at all, perhaps he looked like it last year, but he had back problems..

I watched this guy at least 4 times in person when I was at ucla..

When he was at oregon with Ridnour and fred jones.. The guy was a beast on the court...

He is going to be really solid for us... I'm thinking/praying Dan Majerle..

Sounds like Ljax33 is the early preseason mvp for us  We wanted some production but if he can play like this hell we could be top 2 or 3 in the East. I'm disgruntled because I can't watch the game no nba tv or league pass. I blew my speakers no sound, and nba.com is asleep at the wheel with these box scores...

CLEVELAND 96, BOSTON 86

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- For the second straight night, the Cleveland Cavaliers rallied from an early 15-point deficit. This time, they did it without LeBron James.

Missing their superstar swingman, the Cavaliers received 14 points from Luke Jackson and 13 from offseason acquisition Donyell Marshall to defeat the Boston Celtics, 96-86.

James helped the Cavaliers come back from an early deficit to post a 116-94 triumph at Washington on Monday but sat out this one with a abdominal strain.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 12 points for the Cavaliers, who quickly fell behind, 17-2.

Cleveland pulled within 26-20 after one quarter and held Boston without a point for the first 5:50 of the second period.

Paul Pierce scored 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and had seven rebounds for the Celtics, who were playing their preseason debut.
