Which is weird, cause he was slated to make 17mil in Texas

I mean we have to assume that Houston was going to cut/trade him regardless of whether he wanted it to happen or not, so it seems like he wasn't going to be in a position to actually earn that 17M from the Texans anyway.

He locked himself into an extra 6M bucks no matter what happens and got to choose where he wants to play. Seems like a win/win from his perspective.

Just goes to show how clueless the media can be. Never seen AZ mentioned as a serious contender for him.

Well at least we know that whole thing about JJ Watt wanting to play for a Super Bowl contender was bogus.

i thought it was going to be 3 years 48 million with 30 million guaranteed. Damn, gave him 1 more year than he got.

Replace "attention whore" with "shrewd businessman who understands how to build his personal brand and maximize his value."

That should about cover it, and you'll see why when he retires and has a handful of $100 million broadcasting offers.

You think Pat McAfee's net worth is an aberration? Just wait until athletes begin dominating the sports talk news landscape.

I personally don't look at always finding ways to be in camera shots as shrewd business, but I get where you're coming from. It was extra apparent when I watched him somehow find a way to be the first player celebrating with an opponent when Vinetari hit a record-breaking field goal to beat the Texans. I don't think he gleaned a handful of broadcasting offers by doing that.

For me, it's too much.

Didn't he publicly say/heavily he wanted to go to a contender? Arizona is obviously better than Houston right now, but they also may legit be the worst team in their own division.

As I’ve said, I root for the Cardinals because I live here and my fiancé and her family are huge Cardinals fans. The year with Rosen, I went to 7 of the 8 regular season home games.

It’s really bittersweet. I’d... obviously want him in Cleveland. But this was wildly unexpected, his name literally never came up here as even remotely being an option, given Reddick, Peterson, and Larry all being free agents with not a ton of space. I’d assume they’ll let Reddick walk.

Not because of talent. They’re handcuffed by Kliff and his inability to manage a game clock. It’s not a talent issue.

I mean, Watt and Chandler Jones is pretty formidable. About as lethal a pass rush combo as Watt and Myles would have been.

Key for them will be if Murray is ready to take a leap in year three. He had some great games and some horrible games last year.

It could be because a former owner put a hex on the team....if they aren't a contender they aren't a contender.

I may be an army of one on this, but I would have absolutely signed Watt at that price.

$23 million guaranteed over 2 years is very reasonable.
