I may be an army of one on this, but I would have absolutely signed Watt at that price.

$23 million guaranteed over 2 years is very reasonable.
Its absolutely inline with what other high profile players have been getting. I agree at 2 years you take the risk.

I would have paid that too, seems reasonable. Its what we were paying Vernon and i think Watt is a better player than Vernon if he didnt get hurt right now.

But who knows why he signed in AZ, maybe he is good friends with D-Hop? Wants to reunite?

Year round great weather and facilities.

Pairs with Chandler Jones to create what is now probably a Top 3 (if not best) EDGE combo in the league.

Kyler on the other end, if they develop that OL it will certainly be a deep playoff contender.

I would've too, and I'd bet the FO would've done something on the margins to make this contract work.

I don't see them going deep with Kingsbury at the helm. He's done nothing to show, he can get them over the hump

I love Mack Wilson, i really hope he plays better this year, i want him on the Browns for awhile.

This times infinity.

Last year wasn’t a talent issue, it was a Kingsbury issue.

There is no question in my mind that he is the worst game manager in the history of the league. Literally atrocious.

They improved pretty dramatically from 19-20.

Kingsbury will certainly have some big time expectations now, certainly given the mistakes.

If the 17 game schedule gets approved, as Peter King reported this morning, the Browns will be seeing Watt and the Cardinals in Cleveland this upcoming season.

I too would've paid for Watt... I think you're only gambling on health. If healthy, he's obviously worth that money.

I don't think we had the chance to match. I think that Watt got the list of teams who were willing to field competitive offers, and he picked his destination. He wasn't scraping for every last cent he could make.

The dude wanted to play in Arizona. Good for him. I'm going to love watching what that Cardinals defense can do over the next two seasons. Jones and Watt on the outside with Isaiah Simmons patrolling the middle (Yes, I'm still foolishly thinking Simmons can be a good weapon if used correctly)... I'm excited.

Why do you think he’s worth that top dollar pay day based on his performance the last couple seasons?

4 sacks in 8 games and 5 sacks in 16 games over the last two. Another year older at 32.

I think the most essential skill set we need for an edge to come in here and play opposite Myles is the ability to *consistently* get after the QB.
