I think they should make an adjustment to the play calls of not covering Kelce. Especially in the redzone.

Well it feels like we need to make a small move personally to upgrade over Wilson and/or get another SS who can cover LB...

Also, that coach should have been thrown out as well as Harrison, if a coach shoves a player they should be out of the game. No ifs, ands, or buts...

Yeah Wilson and Taki just aren't good enough.

Hopefully we already did in JOK. I didn't see him out there much but I was also multitasking so maybe he did play more than I thought, but he's going to be our Anti-Kelce once he's had some time in the NFL to learn how. I don't expect him to be able to handle someone like Kelce the way we'll need him to down the road in his first game.

Could not watch the game unfortunately.. but in considering to Woods Defense, once Harrison is out, you are playing two rookies, Newsome and Greedy( effectively) ..

All but 63 yards of the chiefs came to two targets , Kelce and Hill.. We knew those two would be at the heart of it, but just couldn't stop them, even with a new and improved defensive backfield..

That said, mistakes will lose a game.. Harrison ejection, Chubbs fumble, Gillians mental freeze, together spells a loss..

Mistakes are on coaches, and team prep.. Special teams clearly not ready..key players not focused..

We can come back from this. But we.needvto improve..

Schwartz was a bonus.. JOK living up to billing..

There were a couple of unfortunate things. The Chubb fumble, the Hammer fumble were things that are hard to come back from against a team like KC.

But for me I was really disappointed that Johnson couldn't turn his head in time to see and track the ball on Mahome's lucky chuck to Hill. I understand he's watching Hill to track and stay with him. But if, the second he saw Hill look for the ball, Johnson could have turned his head? Johnson was in perfect position to pick off that wounded duck of a throw. That would have been a game changer in our favor instead of against us.
I'll have to rewatch it at some point, but I feel like he did turn his head, and that's the problem.

He saw Hill's eyes change, turned his head to look for the ball, but he turned his head the "correct" way (towards the sideline, where both of them were heading) and it turned out Mahomes underthrew it by a ton and the ball came back towards the middle of the field, the opposite way of where JJ3 just turned.

Completely agree. Johnson's coverage was actually really good as Hill wasn't even open. The ball was just so badly underthrown that it unfortunately ended up working out perfectly for the Chiefs.

Pretty much good process with a terrible result. It's really difficult for a defender to anticipate a ball is gonna be underthrown that significantly.

If it weren’t for the boneheaded turnovers from the offense and special teams, everyone would be praising Woods and saying his defensive strategy actually ended up working. That first half was really good for us.
Exactly.

This is two games in a row now where Woods & the defense did enough to give us a chance to win. Last year in spite of the lack of talent (and Higgins fumbling), this year in spite of Chubb and Gillan fumbling the ball (not to mention Harrison being ejected and Delpit being inactive).

I'd like to see Woods mix it up a little bit more and not just sit in soft zone the entire game, but overall the gameplan has worked two games in a row against the Chiefs.

We need to stop turning the damn ball over if we want to win.

I am disapointed the play work, but he was step for step with Hill, the fact he lost his balance when he turned his head means that JJ3 is human, nothing more....but if he turns his head, doesnt lose his balance and makes the Pick...you are right, different outcome for the final score.
