Week #11 - Lions @Browns 1pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Other thing to consider...not sure the Lions were terribly interested in winning this game. If they were, they would have gone for it on that 4th down and 1 instead of kicking the field goal.

I know Mayfield is hurt and I suspect he's hurt far more than he's actually letting on.

But if you're on the field, you have to perform. Period. No excuses.

Not injuries. Not penalties. Not poor performance by teammates. If you're on the field, you have to play to the best of your ability or you're gonna justifiably get heat.
It's ridiculous to expect an injured player to perform at 100%. However Baker clearly needs to take a week off at least he's too beat up

Yeah, we know that. Ad nauseam.

That doesn't have to be the singular focus of every discussion, though. That's where people in this thread are like... "Dude, do you talk about anything else???"

No it isn't.

If Baker's gonna lobby this hard to the coaching staff to play each week. If he's going to insist so aggressively that "momma didn't raise no wimp" or whatever cliche he's said throughout the year, then he has to play to the best of his ability.

The moment you step onto the field, you're healthy enough to play well. Period.

He said Baker won hearts on the team with his performance. He played Tom Boyle to a draw. I imagine his teammates wish he would sit down.
Ya weve already seen Baker play through it, we've seen it before. When he can't play and is hurting the team the novelty of "he's actually going out there!" Is gone and you kinda just want to win

You can not blame Mayfield for wanting to be on the field. If he begged out when he can possibly hobble his ass out there then he has the wrong disposition for an NFL player.

If Mayfield is hurting the team the way you say he is, then you absolutely should blame Stefanski for allowing him to continue playing hurt.

I thought so, but couldn't tell if that's just Campbell's style

There's nothing else to discuss after a game like this.

The much maligned Joe Woods defense gave up *checks notes* 245 total yards and 10 points.

The much maligned (by some today) offensive lined cleared the way for *checks notes again* 184 rushing yards and 5.1 yards a carry while only allowing 1 sack in 35 dropbacks.

The issue, once again, is terrible QB play.

He is actually hurting the team though. Baker needs to have awareness of his own limits. Stefanski should definitely pull him, but to act like Baker needs to make decisions on his health as if he were some fringe NFL player is goddamn ridiculous.

Yeah I'm gonna call BS on that.

There's plenty to DISCUSS. The game is in its highs and lows. But you may feel like there's nothing else to discuss if your agenda is to 100% blame Mayfield.

He should have been off since the Broncos game. We would still be 2-2 at minimum, and he would be getting healthy.

Now, he is more banged up, overcompensating, and is in his own head. Stefanski may not only be costing us this season, but Baker his career with this judgement.
