Week #11 - Lions @Browns 1pm

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I'm gonna call BS on that.

There's plenty to DISCUSS. The game is in its highs and lows. But you may feel like there's nothing else to discuss if your agenda is to 100% blame Mayfield.

From a things to be critical about perspective? Other than penalties? Not really.

The Browns ran the ball extremely well.

They played good defense (statistically).

QB was terrible.

That is 100% on stefanski. He should have made the call to sit baker this week. That’s what coaches are paid to do no matter how much the player wants to be out there. As a player of course Baker is going to want to play no matter how banged up he is bc he feels like he can do enough to help the team win. It’s not even the shoulder right now that’s affecting Baker it’s the heel and knee. He can’t plant to throw it’s killing his accuracy. He can’t move very well. He shouldn’t have played last week and he sure the fuck shouldn’t have played this week. Why stefanski continues to throw Baker out there I’ll never understand

I think Baker gets most of the blame if you're desperate to criticize something, but damn dude people are just saying it's okay to get off his ass once in awhile. Even Emily doesn't ride it that hard.

I love Stefanski and I think he's doing a tremendous job. I believe in his system in a big way. I really like how aggressive he usually is too. But this is one of the few things he's clearly getting wrong in a big way.

I can accept that Baker at 80-90% gives you more than Keenum does, but it just doesn't appear Baker is anywhere close to that healthy.

He shouldn't be playing if this is good as he can give.

you’re on a sports forum.

What do you expect people to do?

Expectations matter. A lot.

If this team was projected to go 5-12 or something like that, I wouldn't be nearly as critical because my expectations would be where they should be.

As well as this team runs the football, if they had a QB that could make plays more consistently, they'd have a chance to really make a deep playoff run. Instead, they're likely going to miss out on the playoffs entirely.

This is a team capable of winning that simply isn't winning to the level of their ability. IMO the vast majority of that falls on their lack of QB production.

I don't know, be normal sometimes?

Hell, I was trashing Baker too lol. But damn that isn't my only identity on here, heh.

I was impressed that when it seemed (to me) that the balance in the trenches had shifted to the Lions, around the end of the 3rd quarter, we were able to re-establish control to run out the clock. Good to see. We really need both Chubb and Hunt healthy. I think it's a different team with those two both available.

Exactly and that’s the point. The constant criticism towards Baker gets old. We get it he played shitty. Well guess what can you really expect the guy to do more right now with a banged up shoulder, a messed up heel and knee. It’s obviously effecting his play and the dude is still out there trying to give it his all for this team. We know what Baker looks like healthy and he was pretty god damn good when he has been. At this point, Bakers play right now isn’t an indicator of the future. He’s just trying to gut it out and win any way that we can. And this goes back to stefanski. It’s his job to put the team in the best position to win and right now by playing Baker with his injuries isn’t the right choice

The team has been worse than expected on defense.

The QB has been terrible this year and suffered a bad injury before the 2nd game was finished. He has had an inconsistent career with a lot to prove. I mean, the year was already headed into the shitter since the beginning.

Are you expecting more, still? The year is pretty much a wash. We'll try to upgrade at QB (possibly) or roll with a healthy Mayfield next year. I guess I don't get the week to week stuff. It'd be like if I went ham about Kevin Love not playing defense every week lol it is what it is at this point.

The Browns just played a football game.

The quarterback didn't play well.

They almost certainly would have lost to 29 other NFL teams with the caliber of QB play they've gotten the last two weeks.

The Browns play their next two games against the team at the top of their division.

Respectfully, what the fuck else is there to talk about at 4:45pm on Sunday other than what we just watched? Which was mostly shit.

Again, we've covered this.

Honestly it makes me think that Keenum is pretty fucking terrible if KS prefers to ride Baker into the ground
