Week 2 2019 | MNF | Browns @ Jets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Chemistry on offense is a work in progress.

defense seems quite a bit better. i know "Jets" and all but still.

...holy fuck myles garrett is scary on d.

well, my impressions as someone who does not fully dominate this sport's particularities yet are that our offense needs to go for the easier plays. Get a few 6-10 yard passes, open up the field and the long play will be there eventually. Defense looks good, need to clean up some penalties still but it was much better this time.

We are completely unprepared to even think about unrealistic goals for the season right now. Get some rythm and maybe later in the season the team is showing that it can beat anyone in this league. Right now there's no way we beat some of the better teams in the league.

Just my 2 cents

Everyone is complaining about play calling but i really think the bigger issue is Baker not taking what the defense is giving. He's holding on too long instead of just taking the easy underneath stuff. Every game he should have 8-10 easy completions within 3-5 yards from the line of scrimmage. It's not the sexy play but it'll open things up for the deeper passes into single coverage. Most young QBs go through this learning curve and i'm 100% convinced Baker will figure it out.

And when he does check down it's poorly or excessively thrown

Baker definitely is pressing and trying to do too much.

Hopefully he is finally understanding he doesnt need to force it every time.

I agree. But I think a big part of it is we played very little in the pre-season and it seems like we are still figuring out the offense we want to run. The line IMO is just not good enough yet for him to hold it so long. I also think defenses are adjusting to Baker and running some different looks he is not used to. I think more film, and having another week of practice is going to help. I think Sat will tell us a lot.
