Week #2 - Texans - The Return of Tyrod

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was out of town for a prior commitment and missed this one.

Catching up on this thread was certainly entertaining. Some of you never cease to amaze with how quickly you fold :chuckle:

This is how effective leaders of millennial/gen z employees talk. Frankly, it’s probably how coaches should be thinking anyways but this type of thinking and communication is supremely effective in organizations today.

Every time I hear Stefanski and Berry talk, it’s very clear that they have a vision and they understand how to communicate it to their employees. Fantastic. Never saw it.

Show of hands from the "OBJ and Landry will be cap casualties in 2022" crowd...

... still on that hill or going for a little hike?

I'm relying on you to die on this hill no matter how bad it looks. Don't let me down, your my Custer!
Let me help you, the next time you want to flex, maybe wait for a Jets game performance where they lost like 6 WR not a game where baker completed 90% of passes and they scored 31 points. Usually makes you look less silly.

I think we keep Landry one more year

If you said we're cutting both OBJ and Landry next year, that's an awful take and anyone should feel free to light you up for it whenever they please.

I have no idea if you ever said that.

Personally, I think one of them will be cut or restructured--betting on an OBJ restructure.

I’ve said Landry’s production isn’t worth his contract. That’s all.

After Schwartz cut his route short, Baker looked to pass to receivers once for the rest of the game. The fact DPJ fumbled on his only catch likely had a lot to do with it.

That's not something worth discussing? An entire half of football where Baker didn't have any confidence in the wide receivers?

It looked like the Jets game, where tight end was our only passing option. Luckily, Hooper, Njoku and Bryant all looked capable. Luckily, we were playing the Texans with Davis Mills and they couldn't figure out how to defend the Baker bootleg with a tight end in the flat.

I still like the positives that Schwartz brings to the table--I assume a player in his second game will figure out how to be a pro in this league.

I also like DPJ--but I like him as an upgrade to Khadarel Hodge--a backup receiver who's really good at blocking. I don't think anyone views him as a top-2 receiver on a winning team.

Definitely a "come back to Earth" game for Schwartz. The Chiefs didn't prepare for him at all and he feasted on single coverage and double moves. This time, they were ready with help. Bringing out Felton as a gadget player was a great counter once they lost Landry. Again, not even mad at the result on this game. I do think, like you, some perspective can be gained about what DPJ and Schwartz can do against a #1 and #2 cornerback. They aren't ready to make a leap just yet.
