Last weekend I was counting the hours until kickoff with a good feeling. Something in the air felt like a revolution was about to begin. This weekend I'm planning to attend a work barbeque and check in on my phone for a good portion of the game. It doesn't look good.

Credit to the Ravens, but they have rebuilt their defense from the outside in. Marlon Humphrey has emerged as an impact cornerback in his second year, Tavon Young is a playmaker in the secondary, and they have two talented safeties between Eric Weddle and Tony Jefferson. Veteran Brandon Carr has been a consistently positive presence for the Ravens’ defensive backfield as well. Just when you think you have a chance, stud cornerback Jimmy Smith will be back in Week 5 from suspension, further boosting their pass defense. Add to all this the Ravens struck gold with 4th round linebacker Kenny Young out of UCLA because of course they did. They are the Ravens. They were created to make Browns fans punch cinder blocks.

On offense, they have some weaknesses on the line, but the receivers have taken a huge step forward. Crabtree and John Brown are a pair of underappreciated veterans who have formed the best group Baltimore has seen since the Super Bowl run. Browns will need to take advantage of the Ravens biggest weakness: Flacco can't move and their offensive line is their weakest position. James Hurst at right tackle has been a turnstyle in protection, so Ogbah will have opportunities.

Gotta hand it to Ozzie Newsome, he is going out on a high note. Overall this is a good Ravens team.

Prediction

Ravens 26, Browns 20

Baker is about to play pissed off that his Sooners lost the red river shoot out.. browns win a nail biter

Browns incredible turnover fortune from the first three games continues to swing back the other direction.

Ravens take advantage of Browns miscues and win 31-21.

Baker plays reasonably well and all of us find ways to excuse the negative plays he does have.

31-28 Browns.

While I appreciate that the Ravens defense is tough, I dont think their pass rush is that fearsome and I believe that's the only way to stop Baker. Dude sees the field too well to miss open guys.

Additionally, the Ravens haven't played anyone. The Bills are the worst team in the NFL, the Broncos are extremely up and down, the Steelers stink. They played the Bengals and got beaten down. On the road, no less.

I dont worry too much about Crabtree and Snead. They cannot let them go crazy with their TE and John Brown. Alex Collins is way too inconsistent and fumbles the ball too much.

If Baker comes out and plays like he has so far, I think the Browns may get a big lead and just sit on it for most of the game.

Going to be hard to account for the Celtics’ outside shooting. Not sure how the Browns pull this out.

Roll tide

Ravens have our number. Williams D will give up over 400 yards. Ravens front 7 is formidable. Our special teams are, umm... Hue Jackson is still head coach.

Baker is legit, but not our week. 27-13 Baltimore.

Browns jump out early, Haley goes too conservative and they lose another game they should've won. 24-20 Ravens.
