Week 5 2018 | Ravens @ Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because the qb doesn't always throw a missile deep out of bounds. If the ball is uncatchable there's Really nothing consequential they're actually doing on the play.

It's such a bullshit call. Okay the ball is completely uncatchable, but that's still illegal contact just like if a CB is to hold a WR, a tackle like that on the WR should be a 5 yard penalty and automatic 1st down because you simply shouldn't be allowed to get away with that type of play, uncatchable ball or not. I will always consider that illegal contact.

Agreed technically.

But I’ve seen countless times where they call defensive holding (Landry is being held the whole time until he gets wiped out) even if the pass ends up uncatchable.

You aren’t allowed to hold a receiver after 5 yards and there is holding there a good 12-15 yards down the field.

Very least should have been holding before the pass was thrown. And I’ve definitely seen retroactively calling it after seeing the play unfold.

Illegal contact, and or, holding was pretty evident. I agree, you can't give him pass interference. Landry was getting mugged though.

Pretty amazing the Ravens are allowed all that contact in a pass happy league.

Fuck the refs - it's nice to see us win finally despite their bullshit.

Can someone identify a more commendable defensive effort in the past decade?

As a follow-up thought: if Hue Jackson really wanted to command a little of my respect, he should go up to the podium and be prepared to lose some of his money. Roast the refs for these awful calls. Someone in the organization needs to do it.

I can't believe I went to a baptism and missed this. SMH.

Stupid friends and their stupid kid.

Being shot will make them martyrs, lets just fire them.

But wouldn't be worth the satisfaction?

"The Cleveland Browns announce that we have executed by firing squad Head Coach Hue Jackson and Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley. Special Teams Coach Amos Jones was hung, drawn and quartered. His limbs have been sent to various Kicker Academies and his head will adorn the front gate of our facility in Berea as a warning against future incompetence."

He was terrible.

I think teams know we don't trust Chubb to pass protect so they know the run is coming whenever he came in. In the Oakland game they almost seem to sneak him into the game. I bet Oakland thought he was Duke at points and weren't expecting us to run it.

Ravens knew when he was in there today and knew we were running the ball. Chubb needs to get better at pass protection and the coaching staff need to figure out ways to mix him into the passing game.

We did try to get him a little route in the flat. Ball was a little high and zipped, but was catchable as it went off both his hands.
