Another tough one on the road; Herbie Hancock is a California dreamboat and their defense has a Bosa while we have a gimpy left tackle. That isn’t super exciting.

I’ll add more; but week 5 starts tonight which means we are less than a week away from our game.

if we pull this one out it’ll be hard not to be satisfied regardless of how’s it’s done. These guys beat KC.

I updated the title, since many seem to expect a Baker rebound game.

Matchup to watch: ED Myles Garrett vs. LT Rashawn Slater

Slater has faced off against quality edge rushers — Yannick Ngakoue and Montez Sweat among them — through his first four games, but Garrett has a strong case for being the most difficult edge rusher to block in the league right now. .... Very few tackles match up well with him on an island.

Biggest Storyline: Baker Mayfield needs to play better than he did against Minnesota for Cleveland to be legitimate AFC contenders

Mayfield’s 49.2 PFF grade last week against the Vikings was his lowest single-game mark since Week 6 of last season .... Some 39% of his passes were charted as uncatchable.

I unfortunately don’t have a good feeling on this one with the offense…pressure is gonna be coming and with an injured left tackle, and whatever the hell is going on with Baker, I get 2019 49er game vibes. Won’t be as bad score wise because our defense is so much better than that one…but yeah.

Our offense, coaching and defense is much better than 2019. It'll be a tough game, but I doubt we get outclassed like we did in that one.

Yeah, Freddie was over his head. To his credit, he scripted a good first 10 plays on offense. After that, and learning the 49ers could blow up the tackles by only rushing four, he never adjusted. Meanwhile the lack of talent on defense became completely exposed.

In the Vikings game, absolutely everything went just fine aside from Baker's accuracy.

The defense adjusted after the first drive as well as you could hope.

The offensive line was good enough to win, aside from James Hudson struggling.

The coaches had OBJ sprung open time and time again.

I'm equally worried about the Chargers game as I was about the Vikings. The line moved because Baker looked so bad. It's up to him to fix the accuracy issue.

Vikings my man! I agree on your points. I'm crossing my fingers that we'll have Hubbard at LT if Wills sits.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Chargers bottom 5 or so against the run? I really like our run game against their run D

Could the key to the game be as simple as having Tretter and Conklin pave a 2 lane road to the right while Bitonio makes sure that Bosa stays far away from the action?

Vegas no doubt treating this as a Browns road game. Browns fans are mobilizing for Iwo Jima. There will be a ton of SoCal Browns fans at the game plus people like me flying in to LAX for additional support (I.e. calling up the reserves). Last time I saw a west coast Browns game was against the 49ers when we won 13-12 in 97 degree heat. Several thousand Browns fans were there and stuck to the end. The Chargers don’t have the fanbase of the 49ers and we’re flying high. West coast road games are always tough but the Browns will have support at SoFi.

That is correct. Staley has dared passing teams to beat him on the ground. I'm interested to see how he defends a team that prides itself on a ground attack.

The MNF game a few days ago was wild. First time I've ever seen a home team forced to use a silent count. And they were fucking booed when they first ran onto the field. Pretty pathetic how they have no fanbase.

They do have a fanbase - it's in San Diego - they just can't find their way to LA.
