Well our reign atop the AFC North lasted one whole week. What a feeling it was! This past Monday night was one of the worst showings in recent Browns memory. But the good thing is, we have a game Sunday and can move on. We’ve heard from reporters today that starting cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams are back practicing. Having this team at full health, one week before your bye and following that up going into the reigning Super Bowl champions stadium, is absolutely huge.

As a whole, from top to bottom. This team needs to get better in all aspects. It starts at the top with John Dorsey. He failed to address the offensive line in the offseason. We all knew that it was the biggest weakness on the team heading into camp. The coaches need to be better. The red zone has been a blackhole this season. The play calling isn’t the same. And the players need to be better. Going back to the red zone woes. Last year Baker thrived in the red zone, with 20 TDs and 0 INTs. This year? 3 TDs, 2 INTs and only completing 25% of his passes.

3 Keys to Sundays Showdown with Seattle

  1. Get on the same page! - Every play it seems there is always one piece off that blows up a great drive. To cut the lead from 14-3 to 14-10, Antonio Callaway couldn’t handle a pass from Baker, which lead to a San Francisco INT and from there, a TD. Greg Robinson couldn’t handle Nick Bosa. We saw Tight Ends trying to block Bosa 1 on 1. If everyone can get on page like we saw in the Baltimore game, we have a chance of winning every game. I understand there would be growing pains with a new coaching staff. But at times, it looks like we are so far of course.
  1. Feed OBJ - Our prized offseason acquisition has been silent the past two games. Defenses are focused on him more than other receivers. But the 13 targets in the last two games need to be the number we see this week. Look for Freddie and Baker go to Odell often and early. The Seahawks have the 26th ranked pass defense. This will be a great opportunity to get everyone on the offense, on the same page.
  1. Contain the run - For the last 5+ years, it seems the Browns run defense would give up 100 yards to just about anybody. This year is trending in that direction as well. The Seahawks come in with the 12th ranked rushing offense in the league. Chris Carson and Russell Wilson have combined for 500 yards on the season. With the possibility that the defense is at full strength this week, we should see a little better performance. Our pass rush has been there, but if we can get the run defense back in line. Our defense will have a great showing.
This will not be an easy game. The Seahawks have 10 days rest coming into Sunday, we have 6. The one benefit that could be in our favor is Seattle traveling cross country. If we can score a touchdown in the first quarter, I think we’ll be in it for 60 mins. If we end the first quarter with only 0 or 3 points. I don’t have a great feeling we’ll walk out with a win.

Solid post, but I do have to point this out. We have no idea if Baltimore is actually any good at this point. Their three wins are Pit, Mia, and AZ who are a combined 2-11-1. Add in that they only beat Pitt by 3 and AZ by 6 and they are kind of a big question mark at the moment.

I think Seattle's balanced attack is going to give us problems. Even if Greedy and Ward are back they're likely to be a bit rusty. Carson's been tough this year. This is easily the best QB/RB duo we've faced up to this point.

Don't feel good about this one. It won't be to the extent that SF was, but a 14 pt loss wouldn't shock me given how both these teams are playing.

A two touchdown loss to go 0 and 3 at home and another loss where they look overmatched would in my opinion start to really put doubt in the locker room and cause internal conflict.

O and 3 home teams don’t often recover and become contenders. It is time to to find a way to win. Seattle is coming cross country and they are not in my opinion a “ great team”at some you have to find a way to put points and win period! Otherwise you are a bad team with a done well known names.

This won’t be terrible but it won’t be good. 10-13 point loss.

Which means people will be hitting the panic button and the Fire Freddie bandwagon will be full throated and Baker’s season will begin unraveling completely.

This season was always going to be a bust for him. You could see it game 1. There is not time to adjust mid-season and there are too many things wrong with him and the team to just magically fix it without an off-season to get his head straight and to practice with his line and key offensive weapons.

Wasted season which sucks. Best thing they could do is get Baker’s head on straight towards the end of the season.

A 13 point loss to go 2 and 4 ( 0 and 3 at home) going into a bye and road Game vs New England is terrible for a team trying to win a conference. Seattle is clearly a better team at home. They could barley beat Pitt when Big Ben was out majority on the game in Pitt, and the Bengals gave Seattle all they could handle on the road . If the browns can’t even match Pittsburgh’s efforts with a backup qb and Cincy, this team is far worse off then you think.

Boo birds out in full force for this one. Everyone's on edge. If it gets ugly, and chances are it will, these guys are getting booed off the field no question . . .
