Week 6: seabirds at Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know nobody wants to hear this right now, but the Niners game was far more brutal to me. The Browns were out of it from the second play of the game in every phase of football. I was stuck at a watch party I organized with a significant number of Niners fans present, and it was so bad they felt sorry for the Cleveland guys. For this one, it was close, and it was back and forth, and with a good team. I've seen far worse Browns games.
Exactly. Maybe my expectations for the Browns are just so low at this point but I’m really not all that discouraged by this game. Mainly because we hung in there with a damn good team, and the fuck ups today were ones that are (seemingly) correctable. If we actually learn from the mistakes we made today we’ll be in a good spot.

That niners’ game last week on the other hand was an embarrassment all around.

With the game on the line, we ran a play that called for the backup RB to split out as a wide receiver.

Just sums up the ineptitude of this staff. We are incredibly stupid if we give Kitchens a second year.

I can't put this one on Baker. Sure he threw some picks but most of them were off tips that were catchable. Were they the most accurate passes? No but they were all catchable.

End of 1st half meltdown sealed our fate today.

We need wins, not moral victories. The Niners game was simply an ass kicking. This game was another game we legitimately should have won. Those hurt more, at least to me.

Baker had to stop forcing throws.

But some of these "inaccurate" passes wouldnt be called that if Rodgers or Brady were throwing them.

No one would be blaming those guys for some of these drops. Like, they arent hitting fingertips. Theyre hittinf palms of hands.

The end of 1st half meltdown happened because Baker threw a god awful interception.

That was the biggest moment of the game and Baker blew it. And Freddie also blew it by not running more clock there (and by not giving Chubb the damn ball).

Did you watch Vernon again this week? I noticed nothing outta him again.

Its clear 8-8 is about their ceiling for this year. Thats a decent target to shoot for I guess. Schedule just does a developing team
No favors

There is a very good chance we win this game had that play not happened.

It was gut wrenching but given the inexperience of our head coach and quarterback I go into these things expecting that they have a higher probability of happening.

It’s still inexcusable and it needs to be corrected immediately or this coaching staff will not make it beyond this season.

I agree.

The Browns lost a close game to a pretty good team.

Never nice to lose, but they played pretty decent compared to last week against a pretender of a team.

Too many mistakes again, but the talent is there.

I pray, for all our sakes, that Freddie figures it the fuck out the next couple weeks.

Or, he might just get fingered.

And of all the fucking coaches to come around the past years, he might be the most deserving since this team hasn't had this much talent since 1986.

Again, I don't expect people minutes after a close loss to appreciate a "moral victory" at all... but the Browns could have gone right back into the fetal position in the second half after what happened against the Niners just six days ago, who people don't understand is one of the elite teams in the NFC, but they didn't. The defense wasn't perfect and the pass game had issues... but they fought up until the end against one of the elite teams in the NFC.

Coaching ultimately lost this game today. Driving at the end of the second quarter the play-calling was inexcusable. With the lead and the ball you have to use the clock better there. If Freddie doesn't know that I wonder if he has the capacity to ever learn it.

A lot of the officiating was bullshit today though.

That honeslty will go down as one of the worst trades we have ever made. That guy is a complete zero and we traded one of the 10 best interior lineman for him.

Did Zampese ever get hired by anyone else? Bring him back in.

Where the hell is Dorsey?

He is an "analyst" for the Florida Gators. It's one of those booth positions when they are out of coaching positions. Urban Meyer use to have like 4 or 5 at any given time.

The trade hasn’t looked good, but Zeitler hasn’t been great in New York either so far.
