Week 7 (10/25): Browns (2-4) @ Rams (2-3) [1:00 PM EST, CBS]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
-Joe Thomas

Unfortunately, Joe Thomas isn't going to be a part of any long term solution for the Browns. We wasted his best years. I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but we would be much better off trading him to someone like Indy that desperately needs O-line help for a 2nd round pick than keeping him around for another 3-5 years.

That's a fair point. It's why I also said in my original post he should be an option for trading in a firesale. It would be a shame for him to never reach the playoffs in an otherwise hall of fame career.

If this was baseball, the fire sale would be real.

Thomas
Mack
Tramon
Crow
Whitner
Dansby

I can see us collecting at least a part 2 draft to our 2016 draft with that. Then we can tank like never before, something the Ravens are doing this year.

I think you also see what you can get for Haden, Gilbert, and Manziel among others. I'm not usually a fan of tanking just to have more draft picks. It reflects a view that fans have regarding the value of a pick being more valuable than a current player. With that said, this team is mainly a joke, and the talent doesn't fit well together. I doubt we trade all of the talent, but their are certain pieces that won't help us win meaningful games because of their age and/or attitudes, and it's worth seeing what you can get for those players. Whether it is draft picks or young talent that still needs to develop.
