Week #7 - Denver Broncos @ Cleveland Browns (-4.5) - 8:20 p.m. on Fox

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Probably. It took our secondary making 1 play out of what? 17? and the ref trying to inexplicably give them two awful free first down spots and ignore holding on half the drive.

I don’t love Woods but I think his strategy was sound tonight. Make Denver go on 3 methodical drives to beat you. They didn’t have a chance for the 3rd one.

Exactly. ESPN had a running "chance of win" percentage going.

Look, 223 total yards and two scores wins in the NFL. The performance from the offensive line and D'Earnest wins in the NFL.

The performance from Case Keenum is about as far as the Doug and Wendy Whiner should dig into the negative. It's hard to win in the NFL with half your starters on both sides out.

Based on what Jay Glazer was reporting all night, I really do not expect to see Mayfield for a while.

I thought Woods called a damn good game today. Only play I didn't care for was the Broncos 1st TD where we gave them an incredibly soft cushion. But who knows if that was completely on Woods or not.

Other than that, he called a great game here. He had our dudes in the right position, and our d-line sort of underperformed in the pass rush at times. Broncos offense only generated yards on really tough catches and a few really good plays on their side.

What do you know...

The Broncos punted down 10 in the 4th quarter.

Denver then got a stop, but Browns still took 3 minutes (14:26 to 11:24) off the clock and the Broncos never got the ball back for that second possession.

Those extra three minutes might have come in handy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And if the Browns score a TD from 30? They got a stop literally 3 mins later with 0 points given up. They traded 3 min for 0 points that sequence.

The concept of "extending the game as long as possible" just doesn't make sense to me and never has.

If you're trailing, you want to know exactly what you need to come back and have as much time as humanly possible to pull it off.

This win gives us a bit more leeway here. Longer layoff to next game and less pressure to chase a win.

I think the dream scenario is steal the Pitt game to go to 5-3. Bengals game become house money. Then try to bring Baker back around New England.

Most situations I'll side with you, but not when Case Keenum is quaterbacking

So unless an opponent pulls out a bat (or a helmet), Myles shouldn’t expect to get these calls…

This still ended in a credited sack. Which is fucking insane.

Keenum stinks, but the Browns picked up multiple first downs on basically every single drive tonight. The only 3 and out they had the entire game was fueled by a bad Beckham drop.

By punting, the Broncos were creating a scenario where their only option to win the game was to get a stop, then score, get another stop and then score again (4 total possessions) with just 14 minutes to do it. When you consider the Broncos do not have a big play offense and were unlikely to be able to have a quick scoring drive, it made it all the more reasonable to go for it.

Being risk averse in advantageous 4th down distances with a bad QB is how you lose games.

Beyond that, it is just the mentality of this team. As soon as the 3rd down play failed, the first thing Case did was cover his ear holes to hear the 4th down call from KS.

I just love that mentality from a team. Take the game by the horns.
