Week 9 (11/5): Browns (2-6) @ Bengals (7-0) [8:25 PM EST, NFLN]

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Team gets demolished in the 2nd half for the 3rd consecutive week. We are talent deprived, but this coaching staff is piss poor even by our standards.

Gotta utilize Dwayne Bowe's fat ass more.

Farmer is terrible but can this coaching staff develop any of the young talent? Johnny seems to have made strides but I think mccown is a big reason for that. Every other young player has made little progress since they have enter the league.

Damn. What a game.

Good:
1) Duke Johnson is great as a pass catching back. I'd love to see him run it more. Inexcusable how little he plays.
2) Crow having his best game in over one year. I envision him being a short yardage back in the NFL for a long time. Our idiotic coaching staff doesn't know how to utilize him but he'll go somewhere and have moderate success.
3) Shelton is slowly improving. Too slowly but at least he made two good plays tonight.

Bad:
1) Everything about Flip. Terrible playcalling. The vanilla playcalling made Manziel's job harder. Duke barely played in the second half. We stopped running creative run blocking schemes and Crowell was getting stuffed. Barnidge was blocking more than he was receiving. Just awful.
2) Everything about O'Neil. Our defense is just not ready for these games. The gameplans are atrocious. Just embarrassing.
3) The offensive line. They were getting blown through. Made Johnny's job much more difficult.
4) The defense was just ass the whole game. I know we were injured, but some of our guys were non-existent.
5) Johnny. I put him here because I want to be clear that he was not nearly the worst part of the game. With that said, damnnnnn. He may be the slowest QB in the NFL at reading progressions. I like that he wasn't forcing passes, but sometimes it came at the cost of makeable throws. Also, zero first downs in the second half until garbage time is and should be unacceptable. Don't give me the shit about lack of talent. McCown has had the same talent around him all season and he didn't look this bad. Now I'm not saying we should bench Johnny. Ultimately we're going 2-14 or 3-13 either way... At least let's see if we can develop Johnny a bit. With that said, I'd totally understand if Pettine wants to go with McCown. But today's game is evidence of something I, along with many others on here, have been saying for sometime: Johnny is a limited QB with some fun skills. No more, no less.

Johnny isn't the big problem. We lose probably 31-17 with Josh in. The team has much bigger problems than QB. I have stopped short of calling for Pettine's firing, but everyone else better lose their jobs right when the season ends or earlier, and I wouldn't be upset at all if Pettine was fired. We need a total reboot. Just disappointed overall.

What a pathetic fucking organization. There are so many things wrong that I've pretty much given up hope. I don't own a single piece of Browns gear anymore (sold my braylon jersey) and I don't plan on giving any of my money to that dumpster fire any time soon. Fuck Pettine, fuck Farmer, fuck Johnny and fuck Haslam. We have an incompetent asshole at all of the most important positions in the org.

I mean, with this roster as it is currently, we are at minimum 4 years away from seriously competing. And that's if we hit on all of our moves until then.

Zero fucking confidence. We need to start from scratch again and just pretend like the last SIXTEEN years didn't happen.

How can a group of people suck this much for this long? It's astounding.

Coming into the season, I knew we were going to be terrible. There was literally no reason for excitement...and guess what? We're terrible. How can Farmer take himself seriously? I mean, if I screwed up this much, I'd just quit my job out of sheer embarrassment.

None of our first rounders play, our offense is hilariously devoid of playmakers...kind of important, and I honestly don't know what our philosophy is. Based on what I've seen, I'd imagine it's something like: "either draft someone shitty or draft someone fat and shitty, spend our money on shitty players, only put shitty players on the field and make sure our receivers are midgets who are also shitty"
