Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Have we sacrificed our ability to sign TT by bringing Drummond in? I hope not but I don't think we can jam anymore salary into next years cap.

This year's FA crop is weak right? next year is going to be an epic FA class right? potentially Drummond does have a lot of value as an expiring as his contract is basically a max contract. I just really hope a team will be desperate and capable of trading a 28m expiring at that point in time. I have serious doubts because of Koby's track record as he couldn't even trade 1/3 worth of expirings.

I wouldn't guess TT gets as much as his last contract. You could pay him 12M or something. That would still leave us under the cap.

We'll see if he takes the mid level from someone else, or if the Cavs try to keep him. You'd think you could bring back both Delly and TT on lesser contracts. Maybe that sign and trade for TT happens. The draft will tell us a lot.

It's up to Bick and, probably, Love to rein him in. This season is a waste for that due to timing of his coming here and the coaching change, but hopefully someone can get through to him next season. He can be a useful player if he sticks with the game plan and does what he's good at. If not, he's a free agent summer of 2021.

Bickerstaff should have already done it because he's so reckless with the ball. He's on the court acting like he's a point guard when he's a center.

He's so undisciplined. He seems like a prospect more than a player. The opposite of a guy that plays within himself. When he dropped the pass Sexton got him at the end, I saw an eyeroll from Sexton that looked like how vets treated Sexton last year.

And,Sexton took the blame after the game even though he shouldn't.

A 28 M expiring is an albatross.

Drummond only does the big things that show up in the stat sheet. His positioning, footwork, boxing out, screening are all deficient in some way. Having this experience with Drummond I would sign TT over him as a contender every day of the week. We win that game last night if TT was in the game in the 4th

100% agreed

Really? Last night was all Drummond's fault?

Because I could have sworn the Cavs were playing two G-Leaguers (McKinnie and Mooney) due to injury. And they were missing Thompson, Garland, Porter and Exum from their regular rotation. And I thought Cedi Osman was 4-16 from the floor and -13 on the night.

And I thought the Cavs aren't really all that great, because they had gone 32-102 (.238) in the previous 1 1/2 seasons before Drummond arrived, but they're 6-7 (.462) since acquiring him.

And I thought Dellavedova is getting paid $10 million a year to play 14 minutes a night, score 3 ppg and shoot 35% from the floor, including 24% from the 3 point line.

But if ya'll want to blame Drummond, go ahead.

I think a more objective view might be that Drummond had an off night after having a monster game against San Antonio.

Never said it was all Drummond's fault but don't act like he shouldn't be blamed especially with all the turnovers he committed and doing stupid shit last night.

I thought BPM recently had its formula changed, but I could be wrong...

Looking at the Cavs' defensive ratings I can divide the team into the following groupings. This includes players who average 10+ minutes per game played.

Best (105.0 points allowed per 100 possessions when on the court): Delly, Henson

Not bad (110-111 points allowed): Exum, Nance, Clarkson

Below average (113 ppg): McKinnie, Garland, Porter)

Bad (115-117): Thompson, Osman, Love, Knight, Sexton

Really bad: (120): Drummond (small sample of 8 games)

I readily admit Drummond had a lousy game last night. He simply must cut down on his turnovers.

He will not walk. He will pick up his option for sure. Cavs then will trade him before deadline. He is useful to a playoff team and more so a 28 million expiring
Until Colby can prove he can make a good trade, we ain't getting shit for Dummond. Kevin Love is a better player and we couldn't trade him.

Um....didn’t Altman just trade a conditional 2023 2nd round pick and a couple of expiring contracts for an All Star center?

That just happened like a month ago.

yeah but i dont think anyone else wants the all-star

I hope he hangs out with Collin all summer and learns how to work hard.

I hope he hangs out with Sexton all summer and they develop some chemistry, because they clearly don‘t have any. But realistically, that probably won’t happen.
