Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not sure if this is possible but I would offer him 3 years 60mil total but pay him 25mil the first year before we have to resign everyone and then 15mil in the third year.

I doubt he will be a cav past this season tough because New York will strike out in free agency again and come calling for him with a huge deal

The Cavs played .500 basketball in 8 games with Drummond. That’s the best basketball Cleveland’s played since Lebron left.

And they will hopefully land a top 3 pick this year.

And Drummond will only be 27 next season. He’s still young and in his prime. He does need good coaching. He has all the physical tools. I have no reason to believe JB is not the man for the job.

I don’t really care how much Drummond makes. I don’t pay his salary. I’d just like to see the Cavs turn their fortunes around. They have a like able coach and some compelling players in Sexton, Porter, Nance, Drummond and whomever they take in the lottery this year, IMO.

holy small sample size

I cant wait for the cavs to trade Drummond and trot a lineup of 6'5 and above guys just for the heck of it.

KPJ/Windler/Advija?/Nance/Love

Dont care about shot blocking but the switchability and spacing will be great.

Yep. TT coming off the bench had something to do with it as did Delly who played great at the end of the year.

I don't think it was a terrible plan, but sure would have been nice to see what happened the rest of the season.

The Cavs have plenty of room under the cap to re-sign Drummond. And I get the feeling Drummond would like to stay. He’s saying all the right things.

I even read and article quoting Sexton. Sexton was saying how he plays better with Drummond. That’s important, because the Cavs are currently Sexton’s team, and Sexton very well could become the Cavs best player moving forward, depending on how this draft turns out. It would help this team substantially if Sexton and Drummond developed chemistry.

Who says his defense is terrible? He just got a first place vote for defensive player of the year :chuckle:

More frustrating than terrible. Just completely inconsistent. WHen engaged he is getting steals and blocks, acting as a deterrent at the rim. HE also loses his man, doesn't box out, and uses his hands more than his feet.

I think he has DPOY tools. I can't believe he isn't more polished on that end at this point. He's way too invested in bringing the ball up and handling the ball to the detriment of his defense.

Rebounding is a defensive stat. Drummond frequently leads the league in rebounding, both offensive and defensive. He also led the league in steals among centers, and was 11th in the league in blocks among centers.

Yeah agreed. He has the tools to be a difference maker. I think his focus is the problem. IF he could focus on his strengths the way Tristan does be would be a premiere defender

Not only would he be a premiere defender, but he would continue to score 15 ppg on 55% shooting, the way he has throughout his career. He can score 15 ppg very efficiently, just on pick-n-rolls, alley-oops and offensive rebounds.

But he needs to get paid. That's the big issue.

Drummond needs the motivation that must come from within if he is ever to reach a higher level of play.

How bad does he want it?

Has he ever had a coach, system and franchise culture that should have already made that happen?

I saw someone commenting on hims trying to do too much in a pickup game, but can't find the video. Anyone? I wish he was working on what the cavs want him to do.

We have to trade him

Found it.

Yeah, once again, Drummond trying to play like a guard instead of a big. Story of his career on the offensive end.
