Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Zizic not on the active roster tonight? Will he miss more games?

Under concussion protocol... Depends if he pass the tests... Too bad the last couple of games should have been a good learning experience for him against teams with real traditional centers

Wondered if they put him on IR. On Saturday, he was a DNP-CD. Tonight, not even in the box score. Does that mean he didn’t dress? No CD to be made?

The NBA doesn't have IR. Probably has to go thru a couple stages of concussion protocol before being able to suit up. My guess he will be back later in the week or early next week.

Ante comes back in his first game after a concussion and finishes with 17-7 in 27 minutes + 17 +/-, against Marc Gasol who had 2 points on 1/6 shooting. Our offense seems much better with him in over Nance.

He pairs well with Love in particular, and his screens really help disrupt defensive rotations.

If we treat Nance like we used to treat TT then Nance is great, but Ante is a real scoring threat and he is a pretty good garbage guy too.

He and Love have been the answer to the hole in middle so far this year.

I had mentioned before that Ante had improved his foot speed. Looked great in this game guarding and running the floor. He is in much better shape than earlier in the season.

I think we can pencil him in as one of the starters next year. Imagine if he can learn the "Love" outlet pass. It is great to see him do well.

I was working and missed all the previous games when Zizic made a good showing before the concussion. Last night was the first real chance I've seen him play anywhere close to his potential against top level competition.

All I can say is I feel just a little vindicated for sticking up for this kid, and to everyone who kept saying he's not an NBA player? Suck it. :chuckle:

My only criticism is that Zizic needs to get a lot stronger at holding onto the ball and preventing it from getting stripped. He needs to get a death grip on it until he's ready to shoot, so any strip attempts turn into fouls.

Otherwise, pretty damn good.

Nance dribbles way too much without a clear idea of where he is going with it whereas
Zizic gets the rock and makes his move to score or gets the ball to a teammate.

I'd also take Zizics' overall skill set over Nance every time.

He is so much more engaged when there are players on the floor who get him the
ball when he has worked for good position. Not you Mr Clarkson!

Yep. Needs to get stronger in general too. Young players improve the most with turnovers, and Zizic has good hands. I really think he is going to be a good scorer and as a garbage man he is almost perfect. When bigs have no time to react, he scores immediately and keeps the ball high. It is awesome having 2 guys that can score down low.

He also has been way better at defense lately. He is making the right rotations and he cuts off the rim. When he was out guys were scoring in the paint at will. Not a shot blocker, but he makes guys take shots out further than they want to.
