Mobley is lighting quick off the floor. No wonder he got so many blocks in college.

He looked very good in the scrimmage. The thing that really impressed me was his ability to move the ball on the perimeter on the move. I just can't think of anyone his size with the ability to do that. He was cut off and just immediately had a laser pass to the wing.

I might be tempted to bring him off the bench with Windler and Love. He's going to get guys open 3pt shots for sure.

12 foot shot looks money.

Given his body type & style of play so far, I'd be happy if he develops into a Marcus Camby type (defense, inside scoring and lob target) with a little outside shooting (ala Channing) in the next few years.... It would be nice if he becomes a generational talent, but that is too early to project and that rarely happens even for #1 picks....

Camby is a good comp for Mobley, although I think Mobley has the higher basketball IQ. Physically they’re pretty similar.

So this is what it's like to have an A prime rookie again...it's been since Kyrie we had someone like this. I almost feel like we have just been talking ourselves into the other guys....

Yeah he had some wow moments. Definitely needs polish, but his ability to stop on a dime in the paint, spin, and go up from a standstill is wild. He can cover ground so fast. His ability to recover is something I haven;t seen outside of maybe Anthony Davis. He looked like the most talented guy on the floor, and he scored basically off garbage points.

Encouraged by his redounding. He was battling. Very much the only exciting thing to take away from the game.

Going to be special. Only way he isn't is if he ends up being one of those injury prone bigs.... but all the pieces/tools are definitely there.

I hope everyone is right, because I just don't see it.

Mobley flashed elite skills that have been absent from the roster since
Lebron left for LA.

So nice to have a Cavalier who displays top level talent/skills at
both ends of the floor.

He got out-muscled for a couple of rebounds but with that
frame no surprise.

Give him as many minutes as possible unless he is
injured or overwhelmed by a particular opponent.

I hope the coaching staff has a plan in mind
that nurtures his game and his role going
forward as the franchise player.

Mobley stuffed Dieng right under the hoop. Beat muscle with length and athleticism. Damn!

Ya that sequence where he fronted and then recovered instantly on Dieng was the oh shit moment for me...that’s special

Just a completely ridiculous performance on defense all around. He looks equally comfortable matched up with Kevin Huerter and John Collins, he's got the foot speed and length to match up with anyone, but most of all his IQ is off the charts for a rookie. Some highlights that stuck out in my mind:

  • He was fronting Dieng, they lobbed it over the top and he spun around and was able to contest vertically at the rim.
  • I believe Hunter was driving and he rotated out, cut off the drive and heavily contested the shot at the rim.
  • Couple of different times including the game saving contest he took an extra step out in the paint to contest the floater while still being able to recover on the possible drive.

On top of that he was damn good on the boards for the second game in a row, which is a great sign considering the fact that rebounding was one of his weaknesses coming into the draft.

Kid won't have much of a positive impact in year 1. But unlike Sexland, I don't see the liability in his rookie year overall.

Purely a defender right now. In other words, shouldn't be starting.

Defensively this kid is already special. Once the game slows down a little more for him on offense look out!
