Spelling contest.

Fuck all of you, I am the best speller on this board. My spelling is so bad, no one even makes fun of it anymore, lmao.

Mobley was an absolute beast in almost every aspect. Even his dribbling and passing were surprisingly good.

Even with the small sample we have, you can tell that good things are coming with Evan. I particularly like how he plays alongside other bigs, especially Allen. Frobley will indeed be a thing.

Mobley is just smarter than everybody else. He has higher IQ than everybody else because he comes from a distinguished family. He will fit every lineup combination you can think of. Unlike Sexton who fits the team only when he plays 1v1 or rock, paper, scissors.

He is a stud boys. We found ourselves a good one. Just need that body to fill out some and we got ourselves a real one.

Feels like we lucked into a franchise type player-third time this has happened in the 2000's. This is much better stats than most franchises. Prior rebuild goals should be thrown out of window. We need to build around him. Markannan also looks like a keeper and for those who cried about giving up Nance maybe they were remembering the guy's father instead of him. Windler minutes must be prioritized and now I am in agreement for breaking up Sexland. From my perspective I would dump Garland who has apparent better value around league. I think Rubio and Sexton would work. Another possible thought is Okoro at the 2 and dumping both. Also looks like KPJ last game was pretty horrendous.

Preseason game 4…and now we have Mobley, in live action..doing the following

-hitting threes
-dropping dimes
-running a fast break, going behind the back to avoid being stripped/losing momentum and ending it with an assist for an easy interior shot.
-double double
-taking complete control of the game for a 6 minute stretch and being the best player on the floor

The kid has a high BBIQ. That much is clear. Some things can’t fully be taught. His feel for the game is tremendous. I think if he were on a clear tanking team that had him as their number 1 option playing big minutes he would be the runaway ROY, though since our team is trying to win he may not get quite as many opportunities, but winning has its own benefits..if we can manage to win at a decent clip which is up in the air at this point.

He seems to make enough difference on the defensive end, he is going to be a positive player quickly.

He's going to need to do this consistently, but wow he is not looking too weak to contribute right away.

He's a good enough garbage man that his scoring stats should be pretty good.

I you were starting a franchise today and you had 1 player from last few drafts to pick and Luka off table would you pick Zion or Mobley?

In summer league he seemed allergic to rebounding. That issue seems to have been resolved. He looks stronger. If he can gain weight the right way CAVS future is very bright.

I'd take Mobley, but it would mostly be because of injury concerns with Zion. I just think the way Zion plays means his legs will explode at some point.

more Mobley at the elbow, please. This guy sees angles and handles doubles like a high level pro already.
more Mobley/Markk/Windler/Okoro line ups please. Smart hoopers who can all play off ball, move off of strong side action, and can all play to Mobley's high post court vision.
more super big lineups please. Love seeing the Cavs using 3 bigs with Okoro as a SG. It won't make sense all the time, but you can make it work if you can pick your match ups right.
I wouldn't fault anyone for thinking the Cavs have a top 5 talent form the last 4 drafts. Luka/Zion/Trae/Mobely/Morant... I guess we will see how Cade/Green shake out.

Fuck trying to win. Unless Sexland+Okoro somehow turns out to be a lot better than expected, this team is not really ready to win, we should be aiming for the lottery. Granted, too much tanking can be bad for a players' development too, but we have core personnel issues that need to be fixed.

It is just so much damn fun to think that we might again have a legit all-NBA player to be developed here, someone who can really be great. Watching that process is a blast and a lot more enjoyable than wondering if we should aim for a play-in slot or the lottery.

With that said, let's not get totally ahead of ourselves. It is HARD to be an NBA superstar. Really, Lebron and Luka are the only guys I can think of in the last couple of decades who just walked in and clearly were destined for superstardom within a year or so. And then even they had a ton of additional development to go through before they could be champions (we'll see with Luka). Everyone else really had to work on themselves and their weaknesses for a period of years, even when their talent was clear. I also think Mobley is behind some of the other superstars in terms of needing to put on muscle/strength without compromising his speed. It will be a journey, way more so than it was with Lebron who served notice in his very first game.
