Am I a fuckup for concentrating more on Okoro going 2 for 3 from the corner at the beginning of this clip? :chuckle:

I already feel like Mobley will end up just fine. More paranoid about how Isaac is gonna develop :conf (8):

He has an elongated release, brings it low, but his actual release is very good form.

All that said, he is 7'1", the fact he can shoot that well as a 20 year old at 7'1 is amazing
Yeah, I was just noticing the exact same thing watching the clip. If he works to catch the ball in a gather and just bring it straight up in the shooting motion, his motion is probably acceptably fast at least. Really easy to work all things considered.

I did the same thing ……lol

I still don’t understand he went number 3. But I’m happy. We got the star we needed. Going to be fun to watch him grow throughout his whole career with us.

Felt like cherry-picking some stats today. o_O:oops: Only one rook on there from what I can see.

All those other games were regular season games except TJ Warren and his Aug. 3 game. Was that the L.A. summer league or something?

You can't compare Mobley's 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assist pre-season game to guys like LeBron and AD scoring 38 in a regular season game.

Warren game was 2020 in the Covid Bubble I believe.

Oh yeah all those performances are great on there, no doubt. More impactful than Mobley's game (given the stakes). Had to cherry pick to get Mobley on the list! Still found it interesting to see who has pulled off that line since 84.

Also LeBron's game, May 12th 2015, against Chicago is the playoffs. Game 5.

Because the parser on NBA.com included that and Mobley's game with the same criteria, I believe it's taking into account preseason/regular season/playoffs.

The 1 turnover or less really narrows the field down.

phhhstttt..

I will not allow anyone, even a staff member of RCF to put a pin in this hyperbole.

Besides, LeBron uses regular season as extended preseason games.. so it's basically the same thing.

Damn. Couple things really jump out to me watching those plays.

The first is how good his fundamentals are. His positioning and awareness are fantastic, and he goes straight up for clean contests and blocks. You see guys so often have good blocks but commit body fouls, so the block is lost. Mobley blocks and contests clean without fouling guys, and that's huge.

The second thing that strikes me is his economy of movement. He's not hyper, and doesn't spazz himself out of position. All of his defensive movements are in control, with no reaching or really even risk taking. When he blocks, there's no highlight-real swat into the stands. He simply gets enough of the ball, and recovers or controls a high percentage of his blocks. That's unusual, because a lot of blocks by other players just end up as out of bounds to the other team. Mobley does what his necessary to make the best play, and that's it.

Reminds me a bit of Duncan in that sense of always making the right play and being under control. He's springier with more lateral movement, though, which makes him more effective defending on the perimeter than Duncan ever was.

I also think the kind of coordination he shows defensively with his hands -- the ability to track the shooter and get only his hand on the ball -- is a really good sign for him developing offensive skills. He's just so freaking coordinated for a guy that size.
