His defense effects the game so much and he seems very disciplined with it.

He played within the offense and scored 17 and made 6 assists… I don’t remember anything being run for him.

Outstanding stuff, fantastic debut.
His perimeter man defense is essentially defense proof. He can certainly contain any PF/C and can easily challenge 90% of SFs.

But he was at the top of the key several times, coming off picks against PGs & SGs and they weren't consistently challenging him either. I was like WTF?? God level unicorn on D bro

Cade didn't play but Mobley also had the best first game of the top10:

Cade - DNP
Green - 9 pts, 4-14FG, 1-6 3P, 0-0 FT 4R, 4A
Barnes - 12 pts, 5-13FG, 0-1 3P, 9R, 1A, 6 TO's
Suggs - 10pts, 3-14FG, 1-6 3P, 1R, 1A, 3 TO's
Giddey - 4 pts, 9R, 1A
Kuminga - DNP
Wagner - 12 pts, 6-9FG, 0-2 3P, 4R, 2A, 1S, 2B
Mitchell - in progress but scoreless so far
Williams - 3pts, 1-1 3P

Old man Duarte actually had a great debut, starting and scoring 27 points on 6-9 from 3P, but that guy is practically 25. And I was really only doing a stat dive on the top10

My non overreaction comparison using only role players was he was a mix between Joe Smith(midrange J), Prime Varejao(Passing ability) Javele Magee(Defense), and 2016 Mozgov(Catching oops and finishing).

If we have those 3 players wrapped in one then we picked the best player in the draft period.

This lovable nerd is really good. Fantastic. Impossible not to be impressed with how he never seems to get sped up and he always moves with purpose.

Had a lazer to Allen from the 3pt line for a dunk that was incredible.

He and Sexton need to get that give and go working.

I love the article on ESPN, they tried their best to find something negative so it fits in with the rest of the article with Green/Suggs/Giddey/Barnes struggling

I will not burden the boy with being my av like I did Okoro, I ruined that kid
